Tottenham winger Manor Solomon has joined Villarreal on a season-long loan
Tottenham Hotspur had a busy summer transfer deadline day on Monday. Despite Thomas Frank saying “No” to a striker signing after the 1-0 loss to Bournemouth at the weekend, Spurs landed Randal Kolo Muani on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
Randal Kolo Muani had his heart set on a move to Juventus, where he did well on loan during the second half of last season. When the move to Juventus did not materialise after waiting for months, the Frenchman quickly decided to move to the Premier League after Tottenham came knocking for his signature.
The Lilywhites were not just active on the incomings front; Daniel Levy and Co. managed to move on a couple of players who were surplus to Thomas Frank’s requirements. Bryan Gil joined Girona in a deal worth €10m on Monday, while defender Luka Vuskovic sealed a loan move to Bundesliga club HSV Hamburger a couple of days before.
Manor Solomon was also given the green light by the club to secure a move away on deadline day. The winger was expected to leave Tottenham and sign for Crystal Palace on a season-long loan. However, the transfer collapsed, despite both the clubs had signed and submitted deal sheets to the Premier League, giving them two extra hours to get the paperwork done.
Villarreal sign Manor Solomon on season-long loan
It was unfortunate for Solomon to miss out on joining the FA Cup champions, but he did not have to wait for long to get an offer from another club.
Reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano on X claimed that Villarreal were working on a last-minute move to sign the Israeli international from Tottenham. And following quick negotiations, Villarreal confirmed the signing of Solomon on a season-long loan on their official website.
Last season, the diminutive attacker enjoyed a loan spell with Leeds United in the Championship, where he racked up ten goals and 12 assists in 41 appearances. Solomon scored the crucial winner against Plymouth Argyle that helped the Peacocks win the Championship title on goal difference. This had prompted Leeds to sign him permanently from Spurs upon their promotion to the top flight but a move never happened.

There was time left in the Spanish transfer window to close, and Villarreal quickly acted to get a deal for the player over the line. The Israeli trickster gets a chance to impress in La Liga this season. He will replace Yeremy Pino, who interestingly has joined Crystal Palace, on the left flank.
As for Tottenham, it is good work done by our transfer chiefs to help Solomon secure a move to Villarreal after the Palace heartbreak.
