Tottenham Hotspur unwilling to give up in their pursuit of Malick Fofana

Tottenham Hotspur continued trying to further strengthen their team till the very last day of the 2025 summer transfer window, and they also enjoyed some fruit of their efforts, as they landed the French forward Randal Kolo Muani.

Spurs got the French youngster on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, and despite the French powerhouse’s insistence on getting an obligatory purchase clause in his loan contract, the North London side was able to keep only an optional clause for his purchase at the end of his loan stint.

The youngster has a lot of prove at his new club, but there is enough reason to hope that Thomas Frank will be able to get the best out of him. However, he was not the only player that the North London side was pushing to sign at the deadline day of the transfer window, as they were also in talks for the Lyon forward Malick Fofana.

The Lilywhites were ultimately unable to land the Belgian as Lyon did not have enough time to look for a replacement and thus opted not to lose such an important player. However, it seems like Tottenham have still not thrown in the towel in this operation. This particularly seems to be the case from a report from TeamTalk, which claims that Spurs are already planning to return with an offer for the 20-year-old as soon as the transfer market reopens next January.

Fofana would be quite an interesting signing for Spurs

Fofana has been quite impressive playing in Ligue 1 and has emerged as one of the more promising wingers playing in France. In fact, his skils and nationality have already resulted in him being compared to the Chelsea icon Eden Hazard.

Furthermore, at 20 years of age, the youngster has a lot of room for future growth. For now, a jump to a bigger club could benefit him a lot, and there would be few managers as capable as Thomas Frank who can bring the best out of an emerging youngster like him.

But for now, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham would actually return with a bid for the youngster after having seen their advances rejected so recently, and whether all the stars would align for him to join the North London side.
