The North Londoners had been looking to bring in Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers to resolve their attacking midfield problems in the recently concluded summer transfer window. But the North Londoners have been once again linked with a move with the England international in 2026.

And journalist Dean Jones insists that the Lilywhites gave serious consideration to bringing him to Hotspur Way very late in the recent transfer window before the North Londoners switched focus to Randal Kolo Muani. But now with Daniel Levy no longer at the helm at N17, a move of this magnitude can end up being realistic for Spurs.
The 23-year-old has become one of the best attacking midfielders in the English top tier under Unai Emery. He had racked up 17 goals and 17 assists in 73 games since arriving from Middlesbrough in January 2024. And last season alone at Villa Park, he contributed 19 goal involvements in the Premier League. Given his progress, he was crowned PFA Young Player of the Year.
The Lilywhites reportedly made contact with the Villans via intermediaries before the deadline day. But they ended up withdrawing the offer for the former Middlesbrough maestro after Villa refused to sell him. And now there is an expectation that his valuation will rise to around £100m in 2026.
If we think about the North Londoners in the transfer market under Daniel Levy, the Lilywhites barely pushed beyond £60m for his signatures. But following his shock departure from Tottenham in the last week, complemented by the fact that ENIC’s Peter Charrington stepped in as non-executive chairman now, the Lilywhites are believed to be open to sanctioning a marquee move to sign Rogers.

And this is an era where it looks like the North Londoners are finally prepared to go head-to-head with the rivals to bring in the top talents like the other clubs do in the English Premier League.
Rogers is described as “unbelievable” by teamTALK. And by his performances of late, he does appear destined to go to the very top. If Tottenham are really serious about taking this project to the next level, then it will be ideal to sign the £100m man.
