Boost for Tottenham Hotspur as Radu Dragusin is back in training as he recovers from a ACL rupture
Tottenham Hotspur massively struggled with injuries in their worst-ever Premier League campaign last term, only managing to finish 17th in the table under Ange Postecoglou.
The Lilywhites’ defensive unit was the most affected, with several defenders struggling with injury problems. Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven, their first-choice centre-back pairing, spent significant chunks of the campaign on the sidelines, leading Spurs to invest in a centre-back in January. And in came Kevin Danso on loan from RC Lens, but then Ange lost Radu Dragusin to a serious injury.
The Romanian international missed most of the second half of last season after injuring the ACL in his right knee in a UEFA Europa League fixture against Elfsborg in late January. He is now nursing his way back from an ACL rupture, which saw him miss the massive night against Manchester United in the Europa League final.

Boost for Tottenham as Radu Dragusin is back in training
The Sun journalist Tom Barclay had earlier revealed that Dragusin will not be fit for the start of the 2025/26 season. The centre-back is now on the road to recovery, with Tottenham’s media team showing him being put through the paces as he bids to gain full fitness.
The club have put it on their X account showing that the 23-year-old is back in team training after a huge injury layoff. In July, Dragusin commenced ball work, but now he has finally returned to full training with his Tottenham teammates. It remains to be seen whether the Romanian is ready to play minutes in the Premier League, but his return is great news for the Thomas Frank.
The Bucharest-born talent could be one of the beneficiaries under new boss Thomas Frank. The Dane’s emphasis on having strong structure at the back could help Tottenham’s No.3 thrive and push Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven.
Dragusin’s long injury layoff means he needs competitive minutes to get back his rhythm and match fitness. That said, the central defender still needs to train with his teammates regularly and see much more progress for a return, likely still a few weeks before he has a chance of seeing the field.
We will see how this go, but for now, watching the ex-Genoa star taking his first steps back is massive when it comes to the impact that he can have as a rotational option once he is back to full fitness.
