Tottenham Hotspur are struggling to offload Yves Bissouma

Despite working till the very end of the last summer transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur were still unable to fulfill all of their tasks. With regard to new additions, they were finally able to land forwards like Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani, but were unable to land another new centre-back or left winger.

Meanwhile, they also were not able to complete some of their desired departures. For instance, the Malian midfielder Yves Bissouma remained linked with a move away from the North London side in the last days of the market, but still remains on Spurs’ payroll.

However, despite the end of the market for the big European leagues, the Lilywhites are still working to find a new destination for the Malian, with the transfer market still open for leagues in Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

Still, as FootballInsider247 have noted, a loan move to any of these two countries can still take place, and is looking increasingly likely. However, Tottenham will have to find a solution to this matter quickly, as the transfer market in Turkey closes on September 12th, while in Saudi Arabia, it will close another two weeks after this date.

Tottenham Hotspur are struggling to offload Yves Bissouma.

The midfielder is unlikely to play under Thomas Frank

Bissouma has been unable to convince the new Lilywhites coach Thomas Frank ever since the latter took charge of the club. In fact, the coach also penalized the midfielder for arriving late for training by dropping him from the squad for the UEFA Super Cup tie against Paris Saint Germain. Since that time, the Malian is yet to step on the pitch for Spurs.

Furthermore, it also looks highly unlikely that Frank would include Bissouma in his plans going forward either, especially with all the other midfield options he has at his disposal, which have been further bolstered by the arrival of Xavi Simons late in the transfer window.

Thus, hopefully Tottenham will be able to finalize his departure, either on loan or permanently, as soon as possible, and especially before the transfer market closes in these two countries. This will not only allow Spurs to lighten their squad but will also allow the player to remain prominent as he reaches the ebbing point of his career.
