Tottenham Hotspur are struggling to sell Yves Bissouma this summer
It has been some days since the 2025 summer transfer market closed for the major European leagues, and Tottenham Hotspur had quite a busy last few days of the market. The North London side was working to sign several new players in that phase of the window, and actually succeeded in landing the likes of Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani.
Meanwhile, Spurs were also looking to complete the departures of some of their players as well in this late phase of the market. In this regard, they were also successful in finding a new side for the forward Manor Solomon.
However, another player for whom they were looking for a new destination was the midfielder Yves Bissouma, but he still remains at the club. Even several days after the end of the market in the big European leagues, there were reports that the Lilywhites are still looking to offload the midfielder, especially as the market was still open for destinations like Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Brazil.

Fabrizio Romano provides an update on the midfielder’s situation
In his newsletter for GiveMeSport, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on this operation, and as opposed to the earlier perceptions of Tottenham pushing for even a loan move of the midfielder, the Italian journalist claims that this is not an operation on which a lot of work is being done at this point in time. When asked about Bissouma’s situation, Romano revealed:
“No, at the moment it’s gone quiet.”
Currently earning around £100,000 a week, a departure of the Malian international would make a lot of sense for Spurs. This is especially the case as he has not been a part of Thomas Frank’s plans so far, and this is not expected to change any time soon either, as the Danish coach has also penalized the midfielder for disciplinary issues.
Similarly, the Lilywhites also brought in Joao Palhinha into their team on loan from Bayern Munich last summer, and with him, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergval, and Archie Gray all available for Frank, the best way forward for Bissouma definitely seems to be an exit from Tottenham. However, from this latest update, it seems unlikely he would be transferred soon.
