“No hard feelings”- Thomas Frank provides update on banished Tottenham midfielder; last chance saloon loading?

Tottenham star Yves Bissouma has not featured at all under Thomas Frank this season

Thomas Frank was forced to make a decision on Yves Bissouma as soon as the Danish tactician stepped in as Tottenham manager. The ex-Brentford boss’ decision to drop Bissouma from the squad against PSG in the UEFA Super Cup final raised a lot of questions about the midfielder’s future at N17. Frank dropped the Mali international due to disciplinary issues after the Spurs No.8 turned up late for meetings.

Since that incident, the 28-year-old is yet to feature for Spurs under Thomas Frank. The Lilywhites also tried luring him away from N17 by offering him to several teams in the summer. And at one point, Bissouma was on the verge of joining Fenerbahce for the current season as well. But a training ground injury forced the deal to fall through, keeping the midfielder in North London for the time being.

Tottenham star Yves Bissouma can still find a way to get back into the team under Thomas Frank.

There was no surprise when Thomas Frank omitted him from the Champions League squad for this season as well. His absence from the list was a clear indication that Bissouma’s career at N17 was effectively over, and there was no way back for the Mali international at the North London club.

Thomas Frank does not close the door on potential Yves Bissouma return

To everyone’s surprise, Yves Bissouma is still at N17 despite being listed on the transfer market by Tottenham in the summer. The Lilywhites are under considerable pressure to find a potential suitor for the Mali international in January if the club does not want to lose him on a free transfer next summer once his contract expires.

Adding to that, Thomas Frank has now given another update on what the future holds for Bissouma. Speaking in his pre-match presser (as transcribed by Football.london), Frank said,

“There are no hard feelings at all. Not before, not now, not at all. Train well and everyone has an opportunity. He has just started to run outside, so he is not part of the group but everything I’ve seen when I’ve said hello to him and every day with the players, he seems good.”

Thomas Frank has made it clear that there are no ‘hard feelings’ between him and Yves Bissouma. The Danish tactician has also kept the door open for the Malian’s return to the team, suggesting that he will be considered if he trains well. But Frank has also reiterated that the 28-year-old is still not part of the first-team group as he is currently recovering from an injury.

All eyes will be on how Spurs tend to go about the situation involving Bissouma. It was reported earlier this week that West Ham United and Everton are looking to make a move for the midfielder in January, with both clubs willing to pay the asking price for his services. In all honesty, the Lilywhites should take what they get for Bissouma and get rid of him before its too late. Fans will now have to wait and see how the future unfolds for the 28-year-old.
