Thomas Frank must look to build on last season’s UEL success and lead Tottenham towards more silverware this season

Tottenham fans are starting to dream how they want the season to end after enduring a brilliant start to the new campaign under Thomas Frank. The Lilywhites have managed to pick up right where they left off last season, after the North London club won the Europa League against all odds. It looks like Spurs might be able to add another trophy to their collection if they keep performing the way they have in these first few games.

Not many expected the Lilywhites to win four of their opening six games of the season this time around. After a hard-fought draw against Brighton this weekend, Spurs sit second on the Premier League table for the time being. This just shows how quickly the Danish tactician has adapted to new surroundings and settled in at N17.

Tottenham are looking to continue the winning momentum as they aim for more trophies this season.

Along with the impressive form in the Premier League, Tottenham have also managed to open their account in Europe. The Lilywhites secured all three points against Villarreal in the Champions League earlier last week, showing resilience and fight to get the result over the line. All that is needed now is for Thomas Frank’s men to carry on this momentum and win a major trophy before the campaign ends.

Tottenham have the chance of winning another trophy this season

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has stated several times that he wants the Lilywhites to become ‘serial winners’ during his time at N17. It is fair to say that the Danish tactician has walked the talk as of now and is well on his way to deliver that promise by the looks of it. The players are also keen to experience the winning feeling again as they aim to build on the Europa League success.

Taking notice of Spurs’ brilliant start under Thomas Frank, David Bentley has shared his predictions on how the Lilywhites will fare this season. Speaking on the Inside Spurs podcast by talkSPORT, Bentley said,

“Definitely (qualifying for) Champions League football and we have got a chance in a cup competition with the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup. I think we have got a chance. I think we got the quality in the squad to actually go and win something this year. Spurs have got more chance of winning the Champions League than the Premier League.”

David Bentley wants Tottenham to compete for a top-five spot in the Premier League and ensure a spot for next season’s Champions League. The ex-Spurs player also believes that the Lilywhites have a good chance of winning a domestic cup competition under Thomas Frank. However, Bentley has admitted that Spurs are closer to winning the Champions League than the Premier League this season.

Well, anything higher than 17th place will be seen as an improvement for Tottenham in terms of league performance. But Thomas Frank must still aim high and finish in the top-half of the league table. Not only that, but Spurs must also look to compete hard on all four fronts this season and give their rivals a strong fight while chasing for a major trophy.
