“More than welcome”- Thomas Frank leaves door open for fan favourite’s transfer return to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs interested in bringing Harry Kane back to the Premier League

Tottenham are still looking to solve their #9 issues after failing to sign a prolific striker in the summer. As of now, the Lilywhites have Dominic Solanke and Richarlison fighting for a place in the starting eleven to become the club’s main striker. However, both players have not yet managed to show their worth at N17 despite being at the club for quite some time.

It is fair to suggest that both Richarlison and Solanke have found it tough to fill the void left behind by Harry Kane after the England international left for pastures new in 2023. Not many expected the 32-year-old would leave N17 for a new club, but it happened and Spurs were suddenly left with a huge task of replacing his tremendous goal-scoring numbers.

Just earlier this month, Michael Owen also criticised Kane for leaving Tottenham to join Bayern Munich in 2023. Owen could not believe that the legendary striker decided to call it quits at N17 despite coming within touching distance of breaking Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goal-scoring record. But Kane thought otherwise and decided to rather win a major trophy with the Bundesliga giants instead.

Harry Kane would be welcomed back to Tottenham by Thomas Frank

It was reported earlier that Bayern Munich fear that the current season would be Harry Kane’s last one for the Bundesliga giants, with the England international being tempted to make a Premier League switch again after his £56.7m release clause gets activated. The report also stated that Tottenham see themselves as frontrunners for his signature as the 32-year-old shares a close relationship with the Lewis family.

To add fuel to the speculation, Thomas Frank has now opened the doors for Kane’s potential arrival as well. Speaking in his pre-match presser (as transcribed by Sky Sports), Frank has said,

“There are a lot of Tottenham fans, including myself who would like to see Kane back. Personally, I don’t think he will do it right now, if I’m honest. He’ll probably stay in Bayern [Munich] and continue performing well. He was the top scorer last year. He won the title and he’s doing fantastic now.”

The Spurs managed has also claimed,

“I don’t know what he’s thinking. Myself, I’m a traveller, I like to explore things as well, so he’s been here for many years, so why not enjoy the time in Bayern a little bit more. But he’s welcome. If he wants to join us, he’s more than welcome.”

Thomas Frank has made it clear that he would be pleased to see Harry Kane join Tottenham next summer. However, the Danish tactician does not believe that the Englishman will make the switch just yet, pointing out that the 32-year-old is enjoying life in Germany and has not shown any signs of looking for a move. But Frank has still suggested that if the right opportunity arises, then he would be more than happy to ‘welcome’ the legendary striker back to N17 next summer.

All eyes will be on how the transfer saga involving Harry Kane pans out. As of now, the prolific striker is enjoying a stellar start to the new campaign for Bayern Munich. He has also managed to score 13 goals and provide three assists this season, showcasing his elite ability to make an impact on the pitch.
