Tottenham Hotspur's recent restructure is set to be tested in the upcoming January transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur will face Wolves in the Premier League as Thomas Frank looks to continue his impressive start to his time in North London. The Dane head coach has inspired this side to ten points in the first five games, as they sit joint second in the Premier League, tied on points with Arsenal, who lead the table because of goals scored.

And coming up against Wolves at home means the Lilywhites face a side that sits right at the bottom of the table. Given the loss of Cunha and Ait Nouri, they have found it difficult to keep up in the English top tier. The Black Country club have lost all five of their Premiership games of the new season.

To put it into context, there are only three other times when a side lost the first six games of the new season in the Premier League [Portsmouth (2009-10), Crystal Palace (2017-18) and Norwich (2021-22)].

Wolves did find some form after Vitor Pereira’s side got the better of Everton in the midweek. They beat the Merseysiders on a 2-0 scoreline in the Carabao Cup. And the travelling supporters would be hoping that Wolves can use that win to find some momentum ahead of facing Frank’s side tomorrow.

Can Thomas Frank get a win against Wolves?

And John Wenham, owner of the reputed Spurs podcast Lilywhites Rose, insists that it wouldn’t be a straightforward game for Tottenham. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, he said:

“Our record at home to Wolves is diabolical. I can only think of one home win the entire time since we’ve been there [Tottenham Hotspur Stadium].

“So it’s going to be a really difficult game, make no mistake about it. Wolves are like our bogey team. The equivalent of us going to Manchester City. They’ll be feeling very, very confident about the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, being so successful there.

“We’re going to have to grind out a win. So on that basis, I think we’ll have to go basically full strength and just get the job done.”

Tottenham have had a difficult time facing Wolves. The Lilywhites are yet to beat tomorrow’s opponents since 2022. To put that into context, Spurs have lost five of the last seven games against them.

If we think about the last time Tottenham played Wolves, they went in to win the tie on a 4-2 scoreline.

Frank has some injury problems going into the game

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has a few injury concerns including Solanke’s availability.

Tottenham do have a few injury concerns going into the game. The duo of Solanke and Kolo Muani are both doubtful given their injury concerns, making Richarlison the obvious choice for that #9 role.

There is also a decision that the Dane head coach needs to make around Xavi Simons and whether to start him or give him a breather like he did against Brighton last weekend.

Wolves do have some players that can make it tricky for the hosts tomorrow, but that is what sets this one up for an exciting tie.
