Richarlison hitting 100 games for Spurs is a big number on paper, but it also sums up why opinions around him are so mixed. When he arrived from Everton in 2022, there was a real sense that he would become a long-term difference-maker in the attack. A Brazilian international with Premier League experience and the edge to play across the frontline sounded like exactly what Tottenham needed at the time. Two years and 23 goals later, the return has not really matched the expectation or the price tag attached to him.

The minutes have certainly been there. Out of those 100 appearances, 76 have come in the Premier League, plus 16 in Europe and a handful in the cups. That is enough game time for any forward to define their role and cement their value, but Richarlison has never fully settled into being a reliable starter or a consistent goal threat. Even when he hits form in short spells, it rarely carries for long stretches, and injuries have not helped his case either.

His European outings underline the same point. Eight games in the Champions League, seven in the Europa League, one in the Super Cup – yet he has not produced the kind of moments that change how fans or the club view him going forward. The goals across all competitions total 23, which is modest for someone who was meant to rotate with or even push the main striker role.

Thanks, but no thanks?

The bigger issue is that Tottenham have moved on stylistically since his signing. Under both Postecoglou and Frank, there has been a push toward fluidity in attack. Even now, there remains a need for better output. Richarlison, for all his effort and aggression, still feels like a square peg at times.

100 appearances in, Tottenham star yet to deliver consistent top moments.

Hitting the 100-game mark puts him in company with long-serving names in the squad, but it does not change the feeling that his Spurs future is uncertain. The club sees themselves linked with new forwards for 2025 and beyond, and there is a sense that if the right bid arrives, either from a Premier Legaue club, or a top Brazilian club, it might be curtains at Hotspur Lane.

100 appearances is a milestone not many reach, and it deserves acknowledgement. But when you stack that up against his output, his price, and the direction the squad is heading, it is hard to shake the impression that this season could be his last in North London.
