Bodo/Glimt star Jens Petter Hauge rules out a move to Tottenham despite Thomas Frank dropping transfer hints

Tottenham Hotspur played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Spurs were given an almighty scare when they fell 2-0 down to Bodo/Glimt at Aspmyra Stadium. Jens Petter Hauge was on fire on the night, giving the home side the lead in the 53rd minute before doubling the advantage in the 66th minute. He carved Spurs open many times, making a mockery of their defence and scored two wonderful goals. The winger gave a torrid time to Pedro Porro, which left talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara absolutely furious.

However, the Lilywhites composed themselves and halved the deficit via Micky van de Ven’s header. Thomas Frank’s side eventually snatched the leveller thanks to a late deflection off Jostein Gundersen. After the game, the Tottenham boss was asked about the performance and goals from Jens Petter Hauge.

The Dane was quick to praise the Bodo/Glimt star, admitting he tried to sign him during his Brentford days. He also dropped a cheeky message in the end- “You never know what the future holds.”

Jens Petter Hauge was playing on a different level altogether against Spurs in the Champions League, netting both goals in the 2-2 draw. The Norwegian winger was too hot to handle for the Tottenham defenders, especially in the second half.

After Frank admitted his eagerness to sign him during his time at Brentford and left the door open for a possible transfer to Tottenham in the future, Hauge was asked in an interview if he would consider leaving Bodo/Glimt for the Europa League winners. To which, the player responded to Norwegian channel Nettavisen:

“I’m not going anywhere.”

Tottenham must continue monitoring the Bodo/Glimt star’s performances

Hauge has been on fire this season, bagging 16 goal contributions across all competitions already. He was Tottenham’s chief tormentor, and it is no surprise that Frank refused to rule out taking the Norway international to White Hart Lane in 2026.

Spurs are in desperate need of a new left-winger to fill the void left by the iconic Son Heung-min in August. With both Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert proving short of producing the required quality of goods, and Brennan Johnson largely ineffective off the left, investing in a new winger in the winter window cannot be ruled out.

A move for Hauge would make total sense. Given his ability on the ball, pace, dribbling and unpredictability, the 25-year-old could make a difference to Frank’s side going forward. While Hauge has ruled out a move now, Spurs must continue keeping close tabs on his progress at Bodo.
