Dominic Solanke vows to return to the field in a Tottenham Hotspur jersey sooner rather than later
Dominic Solanke is finally on the comeback trail after a frustrating spell on the sidelines. The Tottenham forward underwent successful ankle surgery recently and is now focused on returning to action as soon as possible. His absence since August has been felt, with only 49 minutes across three appearances against PSG, Manchester City, and Burnley. Solanke and the club had initially tried to push through the injury without surgery, but it became clear that a minor operation was the best way forward.
Thomas Frank has been cautiously optimistic about Solanke’s return, describing the procedure as small and putting it out that the striker should be back soon. He explained that they did everything possible to avoid surgery, but sometimes these things are unavoidable. The coach has also had to manage a squad affected by multiple injuries, including James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin, Kota Takai, Randal Kolo Muani, and Yves Bissouma. Cuti Romero also missed the recent Champions League clash as a precaution.
Once fit, Solanke stands expected to slot straight into Tottenham’s first team and make an immediate impact. His movement, finishing, and tactical awareness give him the tools to be a major threat up front. Compared to Richarlison, who often seems stuck in second gear at Spurs, the Basingstoke-born striker offers a more polished and clinical option. In less than half the games Richa has played for Spurs, Dom has scored 16 goals, only seven less than the Brazilian has managed since his move from Everton.
Return date draws closer
His return would not only strengthen Tottenham’s attacking options but also add a level of consistency that the team has lacked. Solanke’s presence allows Frank to rotate his squad with confidence while maintaining a sharp offensive edge.
For a team currently grappling with injuries and juggling European fixtures, Dom’s comeback could not come at a better time. Tottenham’s forward line has looked a bit stretched in recent weeks, and the England striker brings a mix of intelligence, physicality, and composure that would instantly elevate the group.

With Spurs positively looking to make a case for the title in all competitions, having a squad with immense depth is of paramount essence. There have to be means and ways for the club to ensure players do not fall into the spiral of picking up and injury, spending weeks on the sidelines recovering, and then find ways to aggravate the same.
