Tottenham are hoping to get back to winning ways in the Premier League before the international break commences
Tottenham will be eager to end their winless run after drawing three of their last four matches. The Lilywhites made a strong start to the new campaign, winning four of their opening five games under Thomas Frank. But momentum has slowed in recent weeks, with Spurs struggling to grind out victories against tricky opponents.
Their last Premier League win came against West Ham United earlier last month, a match in which Thomas Frank’s men looked solid and fully deserved the three points. Since then, however, Spurs appear to have taken their foot off the gas, coming from behind to rescue draws in each of their last three league outings.

The latest result against Wolves was particularly frustrating. Playing at home against a side that had lost all five of their league matches this season, Tottenham were heavy favourites to take maximum points. Instead, they laboured through the contest and needed a stoppage-time equaliser from Joao Palhinha to avoid a humiliating defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham might find it tricky against Leeds United
Tottenham’s next challenge looks no easier. They travel to Elland Road to face an in-form Leeds United side in the Premier League. Daniel Farke’s men have collected eight points so far and have impressed with their free-flowing attacking football. Their most recent home match ended in a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth, a game in which they dominated large spells despite failing to secure the win.
Given both sides’ recent form, Alan Shearer has shared his prediction for the upcoming fixture at Elland Road. Writing in his column for Metro, Shearer said,
“With Leeds playing at home and Tottenham being away in the Champions League during the week, it won’t be an easy game. I’ll go for a draw.”
Alan Shearer’s outlook reflects the challenge ahead for Spurs. Leeds have had a full week to train and prepare, while Tottenham arrive on the back of a long midweek trip to Norway for their Champions League clash against Bodo/Glimt. That extra workload could tilt the balance in the home side’s favour.
A draw may well be the most realistic outcome based on current form. Leeds are unbeaten at Elland Road for over a year, with their last home defeat coming back in September 2023. For Spurs, breaking that streak would require a statement performance – and one that could provide the perfect boost heading into the international break.
