Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea to battle it out for Vasco winger Rayan
Chelsea and Tottenham are both tracking Vasco da Gama winger Rayan, with scouts from both clubs having watched him closely over the past year. At just 19, he is already a first-team regular in Brazil and has 12 goals and an assist this season in 43 appearances. He mainly plays off the right and cuts in on his left foot. He can operate anywhere across the front line and has even played upfront.
As per TeamTalk, the set of London clubs see themselves in the market for a rapid winger, who is very direct, cuts in from thew ing and creates regular scoring chances. He’s 6ft 1in, powerful, direct and strong in the air, but he also glides past players thanks to sharp feet and pace. Scouts describe him as elegant but explosive, and comparisons in Brazil have even linked him to Adriano because of his finishing, physical profile and shot power.
Compared to Chelsea, the Lilywhites’ interest in Rayan is quite old. Tottenham’s interest goes back to April, when they first made enquiries, but Chelsea have since joined the mix and stepped up their scouting. Both clubs see a move in 2026 as realistic rather than something for January or the summer, partly because of how Vasco are handling his situation. Rayan currently has a €40m release clause, and the club are already trying to extend his deal and raise that figure.

Heading to the Premier League soon?
AC Milan and Roma are also monitoring him, though English clubs clearly hold the power financially. Nottingham Forest and Brighton have had scouts cover his games as well, with Brighton’s involvement always a sign that a player has serious upside. He’s already turned down interest from Saudi Arabia, and Dynamo Moscow also held talks, but his preference is one of Europe’s big five leagues, which favour Spurs, Chelsea, Milan or Roma.
If it comes down to Premier League clubs only, Spurs and Chelsea are in a strong position to dictate the pace of any deal. By 2026, both could easily be looking to refresh their forward options. For Spurs specifically, Rayan profiles as someone who could rotate across the line and develop under a coach who trusts young talent. For Chelsea, it fits the model they have been using. They’ve become a business club more than football, but hey, that’s them.
Vasco leaving it too late would also not be an ideal situation. They’d want to cash in when the time is right and that presenets a growing Spurs side looking to bolster their squad with top talents.
Look at this video. This is the exact type of forward English clubs try to lock down before his value explodes. Spurs were in first, but now they’ll have to fight Chelsea and whoever else lines up between now and 2026.
