“Nothing happening”- PL rivals will not entertain January offers for star amid Tottenham Hotspur interest

West Ham United unwilling to entertain interest in Tottenham Hotspur target Jarrod Bowen in January

Tottenham’s priority in the summer transfer window was to bolster the attacking line to give Thomas Frank the best chance of building on last season’s Europa League success. The Lilywhites endured a fantastic window as they brought in the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, and Randal Kolo Muani to provide a different dynamic to the frontline and add some options up front.

However, the North London club failed to address one glaring problem in the forward line that has started haunting Thomas Frank this season. Despite making some high-profile signings in the summer, Spurs failed to land a new left-winger for this season, leaving the Danish tactician short of options on that flank.

Tottenham are keen to bring in West Ham star Jarrod Bowen in the coming months.

As of now, Frank has Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert as options that could feature on the left. But both players have not proved their worth at N17, forcing Frank to deploy Brennan Johnson in an unfamiliar position. Credit where its due, the Welshman has done a fantastic job on the left-flank for Spurs. But it is clear that he has his own limitations whilst playing there.

Tottenham to go for West Ham star Jarrod Bowen in the coming months?

Earlier in the summer, Tottenham were reportedly working hard to secure the signing of West Ham star Jarrod Bowen. Frank, believed to be a long-time admirer of the England international, viewed him as the ideal solution to Spurs’ attacking imbalance. However, a move failed to materialise after the Hammers made it clear that their club captain was not for sale.

It looks like the Stratford-based club is still maintaining the same stance despite their disastrous start to the new season. Speaking to Football Insider (via Caught Offside), Pete O’Rourke has said,

“West Ham won’t really want to lose him, he’s under long-term contracts at West Ham until 2030, so they will be demanding a big, big fee. For Bowen, the fans love him and it seems he is happy and settled at West Ham as well. So I don’t think he’d be rushing out the door.”

The journalist has added,

“As things stand right now, there’s nothing happening with Bowen. West Ham wouldn’t even consider letting him go because he’s so influential for them as well. Right now, Bowen’s long-term future remains at West Ham until somebody tries to price him away.”

As Pete O’Rourke rightly points out, West Ham will only sell Bowen if they receive an offer that is too good to refuse. The England international is one of the standout players for the Hammers, and the club cannot afford to lose him anytime soon. He also has a contract running until 2030, leaving West Ham in a strong position to demand a premium fee for his services.

The journalist also shares that the 28-year-old is happy at West Ham and has not shown any intentions of leaving the West London club. Bowen’s focus is to get his side out of the current mess they find themselves in and end the campaign on a positive note. Whatever happens after that is something that he cannot control right now.

Signing Bowen would certainly put Spurs as top contenders to challenge for a top-four place in the Premier League. The England international thrives in transitions and has the ability to play anywhere in the forward line. He also tends to find the net regularly, proving his goal-scoring capabilities on the big stage. It is also fair to say that the West Ham ace would be a massive upgrade on Brennan Johnson going forward.
