“He’s been outstanding”- Tottenham accused of relying heavily on one summer signing this season

Date:

Tottenham Hotspur winger Mohammed Kudus is already proving his worth at N17 under Thomas Frank

Mohammed Kudus has easily been one of the standout players for Tottenham this season. The Ghana international has already hit the ground running for the Lilywhites, leading the Premier League charts for most assists and successful take-ons. And it is fair to say that the 25-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down as he looks to spearhead the North London club into a new era under Thomas Frank.

Most of Spurs’ attack go through Kudus, highlighting how important he is for the Lilywhites during build-up play. He thrives in tight spaces, using his close control and explosive dribbling to glide past defenders and launch quick transitions. The Ghanaian’s ability to retain possession and progress the ball has made him the creative heartbeat of this team.

Mohammed Kudus is one of the first names on the team-sheet under Thomas Frank.

That influence was on full display in Tottenham’s recent victory over Leeds United. Kudus was at the centre of everything, constantly driving the team forward and creating danger in the final third. His first goal for the club came from a blistering counter-attack. He sprinted into space down the flank, latched onto a deep pass, cut inside, and wrong-footed the goalkeeper with a composed finish into the bottom-right corner. It was a moment of pure class, reaffirming that he is currently Tottenham’s most dangerous attacking threat.

Mohammed Kudus has become the main man at Tottenham

The goal against Leeds also marked a milestone for Kudus, who has quickly adapted to life in North London. His performances have justified the hefty investment Spurs made in him, and the 25-year-old is already living up to the hype. Alan Shearer recently praised the Ghanaian as well, hailing him as the ‘top dog’ in Tottenham’s attack and crediting him for becoming the team’s main source of creativity and inspiration.

However, Danny Murphy believes that Spurs are relying too much on Kudus whilst going forward this season. Speaking on talkSPORT, Murphy said,

“They’re heavily relying on Kudus in the games I’ve watched. And that’s fine, because all top teams have certain players they really rely on. And he’s been outstanding, by the way, what a signing. He’s been outstanding and their best player this season by a mile.”

Murphy’s point rings true. While Kudus has consistently delivered for Spurs, their heavy dependence on him to create and finish chances could become a concern as the season wears on. Still, the pundit agrees that the Ghanaian has been Tottenham’s best player by a considerable margin.

Fans will now hope that the Ghana international managed to continue his good form for Spurs and help the club compete on all fronts this season. The 25-year-old is seen as the key player for the Lilywhites going forward, so all eyes will be on him as he looks to make his mark at N17 and live up to the expectations of the fans.
