Tottenham told how best to make use of £100million cash injection; January could ‘transform’ fortunes

Tottenham urged to make a statement signing following the latest £100million cash influx by the Lewis family

The Lewis family-owned ENIC rejected a takeover proposal for Tottenham Hotspur last month, with them keen to keep hold of their prized asset. Chairman Daniel Levy left his post in September after more than 24 years, with the exit prompting rumours of a change in ownership.

There has been plenty of changes going on behind the scenes at White Hart Lane. New head coach Thomas Frank was appointed in June and backed well during the summer transfer window, with several exciting talents arriving at Spurs. The acquisitions of players such as Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, Mathys Tel and Kota Takai in the summer comes as a part of the Lewis family’s aim to prioritise the Lilywhites’ sporting success over the next few years.

Daniel Levy’s abrupt exit, coupled with a new strategy at the board and recruitment level, appears to be a move towards keeping the north London club competitive. The latest cash influx from the Lewis family only supplements that.

Tottenham told to splash big on an elite player following fresh cash injection

On Thursday, Tottenham announced that ENIC have injected £100million of new capital into the club, further confirming their commitment to the North London club. As per the official statement released, the new investment has been made with “long-term sporting success” in mind.

Since Levy’s departure from the club last month, the Lewis family have taken a more public role in supporting Tottenham. Spending on exciting, fresh and dynamic talents is something the fans have been wanting for years, and the majority of them will want the latest cash influx to be directed towards strengthening Thomas Frank’s squad.

And so is reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham, who believes the Europa League champions must spend the money on one “elite” player rather than spread it on several squad players.

“I would rather that the full £100m was spent on one elite world-class level player rather than three unknown quantities at £33.3m each,” John Wenham exclusively told Tottenham News.

“I’d rather we went out there if this is all for first team transfers and made one statement signing that can transform the team moving forward.

“But let’s wait and see, and fingers crossed it’s spent wisely.”

Tottenham Hotspur must fork out £80m to land Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo.

Spurs must spend the cash on Antoine Semenyo

Tottenham have been monitoring the performances of Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo. The 25-year-old’s hot form has put several clubs on red alert, with Tottenham plotting a move for him in 2026. The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are also in the mix.

Antoine Semenyo has been breathing fire this season. The Ghanaian international has already registered six goals and three assists in seven Premier League appearances for Bournemouth. Despite having signed a new contract in July, the Cherries are wary that they’d find it difficult to fend off interest if the winger keeps performing at such a level. As a result, they have put a valuation of £70-80m.

A dynamic, pacey, athletic and physical player like Semenyo would go a long way in addressing Tottenham’s left-wing conundrum, which Frank has faced following Son Heung-min’s exit. The African is regularly lighting up Vitality Stadium, and with best years ahead of him, the Bournemouth man would be a sensational signing for the Lilywhites. And to lure him away from the south coast, we must show ambition next year and splash the cash.
