Tottenham starlet Mikey Moore scores first hat-trick for England Under-19s against Belgium in Marbella
There has been a lot of talk taking place surrounding Tottenham Hotspur starlet Mikey Moore of late.
Mikey Moore is an exceptional talent and one that Spurs must handle with the utmost care and diligence, unlike some of their past rising stars. Viewed as the future of the club, the winger made his senior competitive debut at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, featuring against Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Last season turned out to be a breakout one for the youngster as he made 21 appearances in all competitions, registering a goal and two assists.
New boss Thomas Frank and his coaching staff decided a loan would benefit Moore, and the player joined Rangers for the 2025/26 season. The 18-year-old is still very much finding his way in the game, having endured slow start to life in a Rangers shirt. Recently sacked Rangers boss Russell Martin sporadically used him, handing the attacker just four starts. As a result, the Tottenham loanee’s confidence has seen a hit.

Moore scores a hat-trick for England Under-19s
Moore has sprung to form with a stunning hat-trick in England Under-19s’ thumping 4-1 win over Belgium on Saturday. The Spurs academy graduate scored his maiden hat-trick for England, as Will Antwi’s side marched towards a convincing victory in the friendly against Belgium in Marbella.
Starting the game alongside fellow Spurs academician Callum Olusesi, Moore grabbed his first of the afternoon on the stroke of half-time, doubling England’s lead after Shumaira Mheuka’s opener. The fleet-footed and pacey winger then scored his second and third goal on 58 and 65 minutes, before he was withdrawn in the 67th minute.
The native from Southwark had earlier grabbed a hat-trick for the Young Lions’ Under-17 side back in November 2023. The treble for England Under-19s was much-needed to boost his self-belief after a tough loan spell at Rangers thus far. The manner in which Moore took those goals never looked like a man struggling with confidence.
Much-needed boost for the Spurs loanee
Going away from Rangers for the time being and to international duty with England felt like a breath of fresh air for Moore. The current situation at Rangers is far from ideal, with fans rightly upset with how the board has handled things in recent months. The acute mismanagement has had a negative effect on players, especially Moore.
The 18-year-old would hope the hat-trick for the young Three Lions against Belgium would boost his confidence levels and give him the kind of inspiration he requires to kickstart his loan spell at the Ibrox under a new boss, possibly Steven Gerrard. There have been talks of Moore being recalled amid the chaos, but Tottenham have no such plans and want him to continue in Scotland.
