Tottenham Hotspur are set to return from the international hiatus. Thomas Frank & Co will host Aston Villa at the weekend as the North Londoners prepare the Tottenham Hotspur stadium carpet to welcome Unai Emery’s side.
The Lilywhites have enjoyed a fantastic start to the 2025/26 season as the Dane head coach has settled beautifully into life at Hotspur Way. And they would want to continue to build the momentum from that 2-1 win over Leeds United at Elland Road ahead of the international hiatus.
Tottenham have enjoyed a good start to the 2025/26 campaign

With the Lilywhites sitting third on the table, they are just a couple of points away from table toppers Arsenal at the moment. So this Sunday’s meeting against Villa at N17 could have significant implications at the top end of the Premier League, especially if results elsewhere go the Lilywhites’ way. And that is exactly the backing that Tottenham need as they look to pounce on this opportunity.
The Lilywhites have picked up 14 points from seven games in the Premier League this season. It is bifurcated into four wins, two draws and a defeat. And this run that’s kept them within touching distance of the Premiership summit shows how the club has come a long way under the Dane head coach.
Tottenham’s win against Leeds United showed how the incoming head coach has put in this controlled aggression in his structural setup at N17. He has also put in this sense of composure in high-pressure moments which was missing from the roster before.
It was goals from Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus which sealed the three points at Elland Road that day. And there were also some commendable performances from Xavi Simons and Micky van de Ven, which once again underlined Tottenham’s balance under Frank.
It is to be seen if Tottenham can replicate such intensity at N17 this weekend.
Tottenham vs Aston Villa prediction

The supercomputer from Opta predicts a win for Tottenham with a possibility that Thomas Frank & Co. take three points in 38.4%. While it also suggests that the possibility of Aston Villa picking up three points won’t be too far off at 35.1%.
This suggests that it is going to be a close game, one with not a lot of margin for error. And Frank would be hoping his men can bring those three points and continue this upper momentum in the English top tier.
