Tottenham Hotspur face competition from Chelsea for Dusan Vlahovic
Tottenham are looking to mount an unexpected push for a top-four finish in the Premier League under Thomas Frank this season. The Lilywhites have made a brilliant start to the new campaign and currently sit just two points behind league leaders Arsenal. Having already exceeded early expectations, Spurs continue to compete strongly on all four fronts as they look to build on last season’s Europa League success.
However, despite their impressive start, there remain a few glaring issues that the North London club must address in the upcoming transfer window. Chief among them is the lack of a prolific centre-forward — a missing piece that could help Tottenham take the next step toward becoming genuine title contenders.

At present, Thomas Frank is heavily reliant on Dominic Solanke and Richarlison to lead the line. Yet both players have struggled to provide the cutting edge required at the highest level. Solanke has endured an injury-hit campaign so far, spending much of the season on the side-lines with an ankle problem. Meanwhile, Richarlison’s inconsistency and recurring fitness issues have once again prevented him from becoming a reliable focal point in attack.
Tottenham want to bring in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in the coming months
It comes as little surprise, then, that Tottenham are actively exploring options for a new No.9 as they seek to close the gap on their Premier League rivals. With both Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani still recovering from injuries and Richarlison frustrating fans with erratic form, a new striker has become a top priority at N17.
According to recent reports, Spurs have initiated contact with the representatives of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahović over a potential move. The Lilywhites view the Serbian international as an ideal fit to lead the line under Thomas Frank and are prepared to pursue him in the coming months. The report also notes that Vlahović faces an uncertain future in Turin, with any possible deal likely to depend on his wage demands.
However, Tottenham are not alone in the race. As per Quotidiano Sportivo (via Sport Witness), Chelsea are also interested in the 25-year-old as they look to bolster their attack under Enzo Maresca for the second half of the campaign. The Blues reportedly see Vlahović as a perfect solution to their long-standing striker woes at Stamford Bridge.
Interestingly, the same report adds that Tottenham view Vlahović as a long-term replacement for Randal Kolo Muani, who still favours a return to Juventus once his loan spell at N17 ends. With Vlahović’s current contract set to expire next summer, Spurs could be in a strong position to strike a deal in the coming months.
Signing Dusan Vlahović would undoubtedly strengthen Tottenham’s attacking options under Thomas Frank. The prolific forward has consistently proven himself as one of Europe’s top strikers, scoring four goals for Juventus this season despite starting only two matches. His clinical finishing and physical presence would provide a significant upgrade on both Richarlison and Solanke. And he could be the key to transforming Tottenham from top-four hopefuls into genuine title challengers.
