Tottenham Hotspur are interested in recruiting Rangers star Nico Raskin
Tottenham Hotspur have already started putting plans in place for the January transfer window.
Spurs enjoyed a productive summer transfer window, splashing a lot of cash and showing ambition by luring some exciting talents from European clubs. The signings of Xavi Simons, Joao Palhinha, Mohammed Kudus and Randal Kolo Muani have elevated the Tottenham squad.
Thomas Frank has also done a fantastic job in a short span of time in north London. With his pragmatic approach, he has made the Lilywhites a tough team to beat. However, the Dane very well knows this is the first phase of his rebuild and his squad is nowhere close to challenging for the Premier League and the Champions League. For that to happen, he has to move on some more deadwood from his roster when the transfer window reopens in January and replace them with young, fresh and exciting talents.

Rangers midfielder tempted by Tottenham interest
One player Spurs desperately want to move on is Yves Bissouma. The 29-year-old was heavily linked with a summer exit from N17, but eventually he stayed. He is yet to feature for Thomas Frank’s side this season due to injury problems.
Into the final 10 months of his contract, Tottenham want to cash in on Bissouma and sign a replacement. And they’ve identified Rangers star Nico Raskin as the Mali international’s potential replacement.
The Europa League winners have been impressed by the performances of Nico Raskin at the Ibrox. Having fallen out with manager Russell Martin, who was sacked earlier this month, the 24-year-old has endured a slow start to this campaign. But, when taken into account his performances on the whole for Rangers since joining from Standard Liege, the Belgian has been a standout.
Despite the sacking of Russell Martin, Raskin’s future at Rangers remains uncertain, and clubs have continued to keep close tabs on his situation. Now, Football Insider’s transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke has revealed that the central midfielder has been tempted by Tottenham’s interest in him, although a summer move looks likely than January.
“I think for Raskin right now, it’s a clean slate for him again under a new manager,” Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider.
“He’s impressing for Belgium on the international stage as well. So it’s no surprise he’s attracting interest. There was interest in the summer on him, but Rangers managed to keep hold of him.
“There is Premier League interest in him, there’s interest from other European leagues as well. I think there’ll be a big summer ahead for Rangers and if Raskin doesn’t see any improvement maybe with Rangers, then the player himself could be tempted by a move away.”

Spurs must push for Raskin’s signing in January
Raskin has proven his quality in the Scottish Premier League and would be keen to take the next big step in his career. It is not surprising that he’s been tempted by a move to the Premier League.
Tenacious, smart and a tidy distributor of the ball, Raskin would be a fantastic fit in Frank’s system at Spurs. He’d add energy and quality to Tottenham’s midfield, whilst being a worthy replacement for the out-of-favour and injured Bissouma. At 24, one would imagine that the Belgian international’s best years are clearly ahead of him, and Frank may be the right manager to unlock his true potential.
Tottenham cannot afford to risk waiting until the summer to sign Raskin. There are several clubs vying for his signature already and that list would only improve as the season progresses. So, the Hotspur Way bosses have to be wise and test Rangers’ resolve with a tempting bid in January. Raskin is one of Scottish Premiership’s top players and Tottenham could be his ideal destination in 2026.
