Thomas Frank is pleased with Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer business
It’s fair to say that Tottenham truly backed Thomas Frank during the summer transfer window by bringing in several top-quality players. The Lilywhites secured the signings of Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, and Joao Palhinha as they looked to build on last season’s Europa League success. And all three have hit the ground running under the Danish tactician this season.
In total, Tottenham spent around £180 million on new arrivals — a figure that still feels surreal for many Spurs supporters. It’s a level of investment the club would likely never have seen under Daniel Levy’s leadership. During his tenure, the Lilywhites often took a cautious approach in the transfer market, reluctant to spend big even when top talent was available.

Now, however, things appear to be changing at N17. With Levy no longer overseeing footballing matters, the focus has shifted back to sporting success. The Lewis family, who own the club through ENIC, have made it clear they want to build on the momentum of last season’s Europa League triumph. The ambitious summer business sent a strong statement of intent: Tottenham are ready to compete seriously again.
Thomas Frank rates Tottenham’s summer transfer business
The additions of Kudus and Simons in particular have transformed Spurs into genuine contenders for a top-four finish in the Premier League. After last season’s struggles in domestic competition, it’s clear that the club’s hierarchy learned from past mistakes and made a concerted effort to bring in the best players available.
Reflecting on the club’s summer activity, Thomas Frank shared his thoughts during the Spurs Fan Forum, saying,
“I think it’s been a good transfer window. I’d prefer the players coming in early next time so that they can hit the ground running. But I know the club is planning and doing everything they can. But I think it’s been a good transfer window. The new signings have improved the squad.”
Frank expressed satisfaction with Tottenham’s business, acknowledging that the new arrivals have instantly strengthened the team. However, he also urged the hierarchy to finalise transfers earlier in future windows to allow players more time to adapt to his system. Overall, though, the Dane seemed content with the club’s summer dealings.
Attention now turns to the January transfer window. With Fabio Paratici officially joining the setup as Sporting Director alongside Johan Lange, Spurs are expected to continue strengthening the squad ahead of the season’s second half. The Lilywhites should look to address the few remaining weaknesses in the team and bring in reinforcements that can help Thomas Frank maintain Tottenham’s strong start to the campaign.
