Tottenham Hotspur brace themselves for UCL game vs Monaco
Tottenham Hotspur continue to grapple with injuries, as they hope to brush off the disappointing 2-1 loss to Aston Villa at home and gear up to face AS Monaco in the UCL. Spurs go into the fixture on the back of a 2-2 draw against Bodo Glimt, which followed the 1-0 win against Villarreal in the Champions League opener for Thomas Frank’s side.
That said, as per The Standard, these are the players that see themselves out of the squad owing to different issues. First of all, it is Captain Cristian Romero, who had to withdraw from the game against Aston Villa owing to an adductor injury in the build-up to the game. Destiny Udogie also did not make the squad against Villa after his niggles picked up on international duty with Italy.
Yves Bissouma also saw himself stretchered off the pitch during an international game for Mali. Dejan Kulusevski is also part of the list, as he has been missing in action since the Europa League final, after a successful surgery on his patella. Dominic Solanke also underwent surgery and might jump right back into action sooner rather than later. Also on the list are ACL casualties Radu Dragusin and James Maddison.

Romero
The club captain sustained a minor adductor injury that had troubled him over the preceding days and forced his withdrawal during the warm-up against Aston Villa. Frank described it as “not too big” and anticipates a return in late October, though availability against Monaco remains uncertain.
Udogie
The left-back experienced minor knee irritation upon returning from international duties with Italy, resulting in his unexpected omission from the Villa squad. The boss said it was nothing major, so we can go easy about it. An expected return in late October or early November, pending further evaluation. He might be back in contention against Everton.
Bissouma
The midfielder suffered a ligament injury to his ankle shortly after entering play for Mali during the international break, having already missed the season’s start due to prior issues. There’s no update on the player’s latest situation; hence, a potential return date, at the minute, remains unknown.
Solanke
Following successful surgery in September for a persistent ankle problem, the striker is making positive progress but remains restricted to individual training sessions. Progress remains flowing, and he might make an appearance before the turn of the calendar.
Kulusevski
The winger underwent surgery for a patella issue after last season’s Europa League final and has yet to feature this term. There remains optimism for a December return.
Dragusin
Recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, the defender is resuming training and could be available for selection in late October.

Maddison
Also recovering from a pre-season ACL injury. Return this season highly unlikely.
