Real Sociedad are ready to cash in on Tottenham Hotspur target Takefusa Kubo
Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in a new wide forward for a while now. And we saw the North Londoners shuffle through targets along the recently concluded summer window.
And one of the players for whom the Lilywhites hold great regard is Japanese international Takefusa Kubo. And the North Londoners might finally have an opportunity to secure his signatures in January.
Sociedad ready to sanction Kubo sale

The 24-year-old silky winger who is currently plying his trade for Real Sociedad is reportedly up for grabs when the winter transfer window comes around. The La Liga side are said to be open to sanctioning a move for Kubo provided a club meets his approx. €60 million asking price, as per a recent report by Fichajes.
There is also a report stating that his current employers have grown frustrated with his consistency and physical problems. And this can help speed a probable move this winter.
He has been in the limelight for a while now. Kubo was signed by Real Madrid about six years back, and that garnered him a lot of attention, especially given that he has taken his budding steps in Barcelona’s fabled La Masia academy. Now at Sociedad, he has accumulated nearly 150 appearances thus far and has netted 24 goals and laid off 18 assists in donning their badge. A nimble footer player, he has been compared in the past to footballing icon, Lionel Messi.
Can Kubo resolve the Son shaped hold in Tottenham’s attack?

Kubo is quite a technically gifted winger. And then he has the ability to operate across the front line in various roles, which aids how Thomas Frank wants to deploy his side with versatile profiles. Tottenham have lacked that creativity from out wide this season, and that could be down to this Heung-Min Son-shaped void in the roster. The South Korean (who is also available on a short-term loan in winter) signed for LAFC, and he has been showing his abilities in the MLS.
That is where Kubo comes in for Tottenham.
But the Lilywhites aren’t the only club interested in his signature. The 24-year-old is also a matter of interest from Premier League rivals Everton FC and Manchester United.
Author Opinion
Tottenham have had Kubo on the target list for a while now. And given how the current roster requires more high-technical players, he could be an interesting fit. He can help Thomas Frank solve the creative problems against low-mid blocks from far wide (something that has been a cause of concern among the Lilywhites of late).
