Juventus are eyeing a January move for Tottenham Hotspur outcast Yves Bissouma
Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma has yet to make an appearance for the club this season under Thomas Frank. The 28-year-old was expected to play a key role in midfield when the Danish tactician was appointed as the new manager during the summer. However, the Malian quickly fell down the pecking order at N17 after repeatedly arriving late to team meetings before the start of the campaign.
Regular disciplinary issues also cost him a place in Tottenham’s Champions League squad for the first half of the season. It was a clear indication from Thomas Frank that Bissouma was no longer part of his plans, and that his future at the club was in serious doubt.

The North London side had tried to offload the 28-year-old during the summer, with several clubs showing interest in his signature. However, a move failed to materialise after Bissouma suffered an injury in training towards the end of the transfer window. Now, a January departure looks far more likely as the Mali international recovers from another injury he sustained during the last international break.
Juventus remain keen to land Tottenham outcast Yves Bissouma in the winter
Bissouma’s future at Tottenham appears to be heading towards a dead end as he prepares for a move away from N17 sooner rather than later. The midfielder was heavily linked with a transfer to Juventus in the summer, with the Serie A club keen to bolster their midfield options. Juventus’ general director, Damien Comolli, was reportedly eager to bring in the Malian international, but the deal ultimately fell through.
However, it now appears that the Italian giants are preparing to reignite their interest in the coming months. According to Tuttosport (via Sport Witness), Juventus are keen to strengthen their midfield in January following a disappointing start to the season. To address those issues, they are ready to make a move for the Spurs midfielder, who is said to be open to a new challenge elsewhere.
The report adds that the Old Lady would be willing to pay a small fee for Bissouma in the winter to secure his services quickly. The 28-year-old’s contract at N17 is set to expire next summer, leaving Tottenham with little leverage in deciding his future.
With Spurs expected to bring in midfield reinforcements in January, it would make sense for the club to allow Bissouma to leave if a suitable offer arrives. The midfielder is clearly out of favour under Thomas Frank, who would prefer to have a reliable and consistent option in the middle of the park as Tottenham look to build on last season’s Europa League success.
So, will Spurs sanction a move for the Malian in the coming months? Or will they opt to keep him at N17 until the end of the season? Only time will tell.
