Tottenham Hotspur is among the clubs keeping an eye on Igor Thiago
Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in a new striker in 2026 as Thomas Frank looks to add quality and depth to his roster at Hotspur Way. And who better to bring in than a player that the Dane head coach has already signed?
The Lilywhites have been looking at a possible move to sign Brentford striker Igor Thiago.
Premier League trio linked with Igor Thiago
There have been reports via Caught Offside suggesting that the North Londoners, alongside Newcastle United and Aston Villa, have all been keeping tabs to sign the Brentford Brazilian striker. The report goes on to suggest that the Lilywhites’ opponents from yesterday are in the strongest position to land the 24-year-old at the moment. The Toons are said to be preparing a bid worth around €40 million to try and push Bees into a possible sale.
Thiago joined Brentford in what eventually was Frank‘s final season at Gtech Community Stadium. But he suffered from an injury which kept him out for the majority of the campaign. And now his slow start is finally taking its pace, given his impressive performances for Keith Andrew’s side this season. He has already netted six times in nine Premier League appearances for the Bees this season.
And this run of form has attracted interest from around the league, with a €40 million move in the works.

Looking at this from the Lilywhites’ perspective and transfer policy, Thiago is exactly the kind of forward that they should be looking to bring to N17. He adds to that young roster and has an upward curve. He also has Premier League experience already, which was one of the key factors behind most of Spurs’ key targets last campaign.
That being said, it is difficult to see Brentford selling him in the winter window. There might be a summer deal to be done, though.
But at the moment, we have seen Newcastle United throwing money at possible striking targets as they look to replace Isak in their roster at St James’ Park. And at the moment, they are termed as the favourites for securing his signatures. So Tottenham just have to be in the picture and monitor the whole situation and pounce on his signatures if the conditions and pricing are right.
