Tottenham Hotspur outcast Yves Bissouma is wanted by Juventus in a bargain deal in January
Yves Bissouma is yet to feature for Tottenham Hotspur this season, thanks to ill-discipline and injury issues.
The Mali international was heavily linked with a summer exit from White Hart Lane. As luck would have it, the 29-year-old was denied an opportunity to join Turkish club Fenerbahce in the summer transfer window due to a knee injury picked up in training. Fenerbahce were closing in on the midfielder, only for them to pull out of a deal due to his fitness issues.
Yves Bissouma, who was dropped from the Spurs squad against Paris Saint-Germain for the UEFA Super Cup clash due to persistent lateness, picked up an injury in his first competitive match of the season during the October international break. He was surprisingly called up to the national team for the World Cup qualifier against Madagascar, and moments after entering the pitch in the 66th minute, the combative midfielder suffered an ankle injury.

Juventus eye cut-price deal for Tottenham outcast
Bissouma has undergone ankle surgery, subsequently ruling him out for several weeks. He could be out for longer than expected, meaning the African star’s chances of featuring for Thomas Frank’s side appear slim before December.
Yet, that has not stopped European clubs from keeping tabs on his situation. According to a report from Tuttosport, Bissouma is one of the names on Juventus’ midfield shortlist. He is ‘on his way out’ of Tottenham, largely due to his contract expiring next summer. As a result, general manager of Juventus Damien Comolli thinks a cut-price deal can be struck for the player with Tottenham in January.
Bissouma is now into the final eight months of his existing contract and it does not look like Spurs are interested in extending his deal. He’d be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with abroad clubs from January 1 onward, but there remains a big possibility the midfielder leaves the north London club during the winter window itself.

If Juventus fail to sign him on a bargain price in January, they are ready to consider negotiating a pre-contract agreement with the Mali international so that they can sign him for free next summer, the report adds.
Given Bissouma’s contract is winding down and he is surplus to requirements for Thomas Frank, Spurs would love to get any kind of fee to offload him in January. That said, should Juventus formally table an offer for the player, chances of it being accepted by our club remains very likely.
