Tottenham Hotspur star Dominic Solanke is not expected to make his return from injury before the November international break
Tottenham Hotspur have been suffering from ample injury problems this season, with the list ever seeming to grow with every game. The Lilywhites do have a triple injury boost for the London Derby against Chelsea, but one player still remains serving the sidelines in striker Dominic Solanke.
The former Bournemouth striker has been sidelined in the treatment room for a while with an ankle problem. It started as a minor knock, but then it became a bit of a problem, so much so that he had to undergo minor surgery. And now his availability is still a bit of a concern.
Number 9 concerns at Tottenham

Tottenham have seen Richarlison step up into that leading number nine role this season since Thomas Frank took over the reins at N17. But while the North Londoners have finally seen the Richy that they signed for £60m from Everton, his impact hasn’t been as much as in the initial weeks of the season. It could also be down to the fact that he hasn’t played a lot of games of late, and this sudden game time means his intensity is decreasing a bit.
Kolo Muani has recently come back from his own injury problems. But he is still getting sharp as Frank builds the loaner’s minutes gradually.
And this is where the North Londoners are craving for their star striker, one that was brought in to fill that Harry Kane void at Hotspur Way.
Frank gives Solanke update

Solanke has not been a feature since he picked up that injury in the 2-0 win over Manchester City. And now the Lilywhites head coach has given some positive updates on his progress.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of Spurs’ game against Chelsea, Frank insisted that Dom has suffered no setbacks, but he still wouldn’t be available till after the upcoming international hiatus. He said: (via. Football Insider)
“We’re very aware that we want Dom back.
We want him back and no setbacks. We’re very aware of doing it in the right way. It is going in the right way but he won’t be back before the international break.”
Author Opinion
Dominic Solanke is one of the players who does have the capacity to add to the Lilywhites’ attack in lots of ways, and him being injured surely doesn’t help Thomas Frank & Co. But that being said, it needs to be a thing of getting him fired up again and sharp in front of goal once he comes back. And that is going to take some time. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
