Tottenham Hotspur star Lucas Bergvall ruled out of Manchester United clash
Tottenham Hotspur have been dealing with some difficult form of late, and that was quite seen in that 1-0 loss to Chelsea last weekend.
There were 60,000 Lilywhites supporters leaving that stadium in quite some disappointment, with questions rising over Thomas Frank and if there is any attacking intent in this side.
The Dane head coach will again have an opportunity to showcase how his side do possess those offensive sequences against elite Big Six Premier League rivals. Tottenham are due to face Manchester United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next weekend.
But as Frank goes into the drawing room to prepare for high-flying Ruben Amorim’s side, he will have a key piece missing for his tie.
The former Brentford manager will be without Lucas Bergvall for the game after the Swedish prodigy suffered a concussion in the opening minutes of the recent London derby against Chelsea. Frank went on to confirm that Bergvall will not be a feature in at least two games, which means that alongside today’s Champions League game, even that visit from United is off‑limits.

Frank said (via. Manchester World):
“Lucas got a concussion, which was probably pretty obvious from the footage.”
He added: “He’s out for the next two games.”
Bergvall went off the pitch fuming after seven minutes when the medical team didn’t give him a green light to continue last weekend. It was after he took a high‑velocity clearance from Enzo Fernandez to his face.
Now the club has confirmed that he will need to be gradually brought back into play as per the standards.
Tottenham will miss that high-energy presence in the second phase

Now for Tottenham, not having Bergvall means that Thomas Frank will not be able to deploy a runner in his second phase. Bergvall is known for his ever-running big lungs, which are critical in not only attacking sequences, but also pressing from the front and coming at the back to help his teammates.
The North Londoners have relied on him in multiple facets of the game, and given how United give away those pockets of spaces at times with runners, he would be a big tactical miss for Frank.
TTLB Opinion
While Bergvall will be a big miss, Thomas Frank has no reason to have his side turn up and deliver big time, especially after the underwhelming performance against Chelsea.
As for Bergvall, he needs to recover under the club’s medical assessment, given how these concussions are tricky to deal with.
