Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal could battle it out for Real Madrid star Rodrygo
Tottenham Hotspur had been looking to bring in a new winger in the past summer transfer window. And this was despite the fact that they did sign Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons in marquee transfers.
While Kudus has been a fit for that right flank role, Xavi Simons has been preferred in more of a hybrid #8/#10 role by Thomas Frank. And this still keeps a place open for the North Londoners to bring in a new winger, someone who can take the game by its cuff like how we watched Heung-min Son do for about a decade at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham linked with Rodrygo transfer

And the Lilywhites have been looking in the market for an addition that commands a similar spotlight like the South Korean winger. This need makes the recent report from London World more intriguing. They report that Tottenham (alongside Arsenal) have been alerted about the availability of Real Madrid star winger Rodrygo.
Rodrygo had been linked with Tottenham in the summer transfer window, but no transfer materialised for his signing then, but it looks like the North Londoners might have an opportunity to secure his signing once again this winter.
The two-time Champions League winner who has been considered indispensable for the majority of his time in the Spanish capital has seen his game time massively reduced this season. And this decline of minutes has seen him being linked with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu.
And with both the North London clubs in the market for a new winger, it is no surprise that his intermediaries have alerted the Premier League pair for a possible transfer.
Tottenham and Arsenal have that LW flank for Rodrygo

For the Gunners, they did bring in Noni Madueke on the right to support Bukayo Saka last summer. Arteta also took away Eberechi Eze from under Spurs’ noses. But the latter has been predominantly featuring on the inside (in more of a #10 role), which opens up a space for a wide forward on the left flank at the Emirates Stadium.
While for Tottenham, it is quite similar. Xavi Simons has been used on the inside, while Kudus features on the right. There is still a marquee place to be filled on the left flank, and this is where Rodrygo comes into the picture.
But it is to be seen if either of the clubs is ready to sanction a pricey move for his signature in the upcoming winter window. Would you take Rodrygo at Tottenham? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
