Thomas Frank drops Tottenham injury update ahead of welcoming Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday
Tottenham Hotspur are back in Premier League action on Saturday as they welcome Manchester United to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs are coming into this fixture on the back of a morale-boosting 4-0 success over FC Copenhagen in the Champions League. Goals from Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert, Micky van de Ven and Joao Palhinha helped Thomas Frank’s side smash the Danish side. Thomas Frank was desperate for such kind of performance after his side’s meek defeat to London foes Chelsea 1-0 last weekend.
Tottenham had Manchester United’s number last season, beating them four times including in the Europa League final in Bilbao. However, things appear to be different this time around as Man United are a team on the up at this moment. They head to north London hoping to make it four wins from five Premier League matches, adding an extra layer of intrigue.

Thomas Frank gives latest Tottenham team news ahead of Man United fixture
Tottenham enter the contest with some key players out injured still. The Lilywhites are without at least nine first-team players as they continue their recovery towards full fitness.
Unfortunately, Mohammed Kudus picked up a knock earlier this week that forced him to miss the Copenhagen game. The 25-year-old remained hopeful of being involved against the Red Devils when asked about his fitness after the Copenhagen victory. And now Frank has confirmed that Spurs will make a late call on the Ghanaian’s fitness, whilst admitting that both Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie would be fit and available for selection at the weekend after “responding well” to the Copenhagen outing.
“Everyone came through (Copenhagen) okay,” he reported. “Cuti and Destiny responded well and are fit and available. Mo is touch and go for tomorrow – we’ll see,” Frank told the club’s official website.
Tottenham have an opportunity to continue Man United’s misery
Spurs are unbeaten in their last seven head-to-head clashes against Man United, having won five and drawn two. Last term under Ange Postecoglou, the north Londoners proved too good for the Mancunian giants and even defeated them in the most decisive game- the Europa League final. This certainly gives them a psychological edge over their weekend’s visitors heading into the fixture.
However, it is worth noting that Frank’s side have been poor at home in the Premier League. They have won just once, drawn once and lost thrice, which isn’t great reading at all for Frank and the fans ahead of this juicy fixture. Plus, United do possesses some quality attackers in Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo who can hurt Tottenham in one split second.
It is going to be a tough battle between the sides where scoring first would hold a lot of importance.
