Yves Bissouma continues to garner interest from Turkey as Tottenham Hotspur contract winds down

Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma is yet to make a single appearance for the club this season. The Mali international finished the previous campaign on a strong note, playing a significant role in helping the North London side end their 17-year wait for a major trophy when they lifted the Europa League.

Supporters expected the 28-year-old to remain an important part of Thomas Frank’s plans this season. However, the Danish manager removed him from the first-team squad shortly before the UEFA Super Cup in August. Bissouma had reportedly arrived late to team meetings on several occasions, leading Frank to take disciplinary action early in his tenure to set clear standards.

Yves Bissouma is linked with a move to Galatasaray as his Tottenham career seems to have hit a dead-end.

The midfielder was also placed on the transfer list last summer, with many suggesting his time at N17 had come to an end. A move to Fenerbahce was close late in the window, but when the deal fell through, Frank decided to reintegrate him into first-team training. Unfortunately, Bissouma then suffered an injury during the October international break, ruling him out for several weeks.

Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma is still garnering interest from Turkey over potential summer deal

Bissouma’s contract at N17 expires next summer, meaning he is likely to leave as a free agent at the end of the season. Even so, the midfielder still hopes to play for Tottenham before the campaign concludes. He wants to regain match sharpness and show the supporters that he can still contribute in the heart of the midfield.

According to The Sun, Galatasaray have shown interest in signing Bissouma once his contract expires. The Turkish club are looking to strengthen their midfield options for next season and see the Mali international as a player who could add depth and experience. They are reportedly prepared to offer him a three-year deal to convince him to make the move.

However, the same report notes that securing the midfielder will not be straightforward for Galatasaray. Bissouma is not yet prepared to give up on his Tottenham career and intends to play for the Lilywhites this season before making a final decision regarding his future. He is determined to regain full fitness and prove his value once more under Thomas Frank.

In reality, though, the opportunity for Bissouma to play again for Tottenham appears to have passed. Frank had been open to using the midfielder once he returned to training in October, but the ankle injury he suffered during the October international break has now ended those hopes.

So, will we see one last dance from Bissouma at N17 before he eventually departs the club in the coming months? Only time will tell. But for now, the Mali international should focus on returning from injury and regain full-fitness quickly.
