Sweden boss Graham Potter says Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall will not be rushed back into action after recent concussion issue
Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank has managed to churn out positive results in recent weeks despite the injury list growing big.
Randal Kolo Muani is the recent Spurs player to enter the treatment room after suffering a fractured jaw in the 2-2 draw with Manchester United at the weekend. Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie missed the few games after the October international break, while James Maddison is unlikely to be fit for this season after sustaining ACL rupture on his knee in August.
Lucas Bergvall has also been missing for Tottenham in recent games. The midfielder suffered a head injury in Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea. The midfielder’s night against Chelsea came to an early end as he was withdrawn in the seventh minute after seemingly failing a concussion test following being hit by the ball.

Sweden boss Graham Potter gives latest update on Lucas Bergvall
Thomas Frank ruled Bergvall out for the subsequent games against FC Copenhagen and Manchester United, but new Sweden boss Graham Potter decided to include him in his squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Switzerland and Slovenia.
On Monday, Graham Potter was asked to give an update on the Tottenham midfielder during a press conference. Bergvall is currently with the Sweden camp but won’t be allowed to head the ball in training initially.
“He will train tomorrow [Tuesday], but no heading. He will probably be able to train tomorrow. But we have to examine him, he is not here yet. I will speak to him and the doctors, but as I understand it, he will be there tomorrow,” Potter was quoted by Fotbollskanalen.

The Sweden boss remains hopeful that the central midfielder can return to full training on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s game against Switzerland. He has admitted that the youngster will not be rushed back to action until there’s a go-ahead given by the medical department.
“Around Thursday, I would think. But again, I will probably get into trouble if I don’t double-check with the doctors,” he added.
“The most important thing, from Lucas’s point of view, is that they give the go-ahead. But as I understand it, it will be at the end of the week.”
Without any doubt, Bergvall’s case will be handled with utmost care by the Sweden national team. As explained by Potter, our player is not going to be rushed back. All eyes will be on whether the teenage prodigy returns to training on Thursday and is passed fit to face Switzerland in a crucial World Cup qualifier.
