Cristian Romero is likely to be fit to face Arsenal in the North London derby
Thomas Frank substituted Cristian Romero towards the end of their clash against Manchester United last weekend. Frank later confirmed that the player had not picked up any injuries but was simply tired.
Romero had sustained an adductor strain while warming up for Tottenham’s clash against Aston Villa last month. The injury forced Romero to be sidelined for the next couple of matches.
He came off the bench for a 30-minute cameo in the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Chelsea and also featured in the Champions League clash against Copenhagen.

The Argentine was seen struggling in the final minutes of the match against Manchester United, before he was substituted for Kevin Danso.
Speaking to the media after the Manchester United game, Frank stated (h/t The Standard):
“Just done physically. He just came back from that injury. He is fine.”
Cristian Romero could still be fit to face Arsenal after the international break. He is expected to receive extra rest during this period because Argentina has only one scheduled game, unlike other nations playing twice.
The World Cup winners were initially scheduled to play a friendly game against India in Kerala on November 17. However, the fixture was postponed in late October. As a result, Argentina will only play a single match against Angola during the international break.
According to Football London, there is no guarantee that Romero will end up playing the full 90 minutes against Angola, as
This is a massive boost for Spurs, as their captain is set to receive more than a week’s rest before the North London derby on November 23. Tottenham fans will expect Romero to be back to his best in such a high-stakes game, which has bragging rights on the line.
Cristian Romero: The guiding light for Spurs
Romero has been a crucial figure at the heart of Tottenham’s defence. His stature, experience, leadership, and calmness on the football pitch make him a valuable asset to Thomas Frank. He has developed a solid partnership with Micky van de Ven over the years. Romero is also a regular for the Argentina national team and has contributed to their Copa America and World Cup successes.
He initially joined on a season-long loan from Atalanta in 2021, before the deal was made permanent in 2022. Romero penned a new long-term deal this summer, which would keep him at the club till 2029. The contract announcement came just days after he was announced as the club captain.
