“Could be a lot worse”- What the Tottenham board thinks of Thomas Frank amid sack claims

Thomas Frank retains the faith at Tottenham Hotspur despite a string of poor performances

Tottenham’s recent Premier League form under Thomas Frank has been far from convincing. The Lilywhites have dropped points in five of their opening six home matches, revealing a worrying lack of consistency at N17. Supporters are growing increasingly concerned as their team continues to squander valuable points at home, jeopardising their chances of qualifying for Europe.

More than the results, it is the level of performance that has raised alarm bells around N17. Spurs’ display against Chelsea was a prime example of how poor Thomas Frank’s side has been in recent weeks. They were second best in almost every department, and the 1-0 score-line hardly reflected how comprehensively they were outplayed on the night.

Thomas Frank must look to turn Tottenham’s Premier League fortunes around in the coming weeks.

The pragmatic approach adopted by the Danish manager has also been a source of growing frustration among the fans. His team often plays overly cautious football, sitting deep and allowing opponents too much time on the ball. That has been one of the key reasons why Spurs have managed to win only one home game in the Premier League this season.

Thomas Frank’s job at Tottenham is not in immediate danger

Despite their recent struggles, it is worth noting that Tottenham still sit fifth in the Premier League table. The Lilywhites remain within touching distance of European qualification, trailing second-placed Manchester City by just four points. They are also unbeaten in the Champions League this season, having collected eight points from their opening four matches in the competition.

Now, Pete O’Rourke has provided an update on Thomas Frank’s future as pressure continues to mount on the Dane to turn things around in the league. Speaking to Football Insider, O’Rourke said,

“There’s no panic I think from within Tottenham on what’s happening now. They’re still confident that Thomas Frank is the man for them and the fans might just have to be patient because Frank’s still working at the best, probably set up for his own side as well at Tottenham.”

The journalist added,

“So things could be a lot worse than fifth in the table and still competing in the Champions League. It can’t be that hard to be a Spurs fan right now, surely.”

O’Rourke suggests that Tottenham’s hierarchy is not overly concerned about the club’s current Premier League form. They reportedly believe Frank is the right manager to lead the North Londoners forward and are urging supporters to remain patient as he continues to implement his ideas following his summer move from Brentford. According to O’Rourke, the Lilywhites’ situation could be far worse, both domestically and in Europe, and fans should acknowledge that progress is being made under the Danish tactician.

The responsibility now falls on Thomas Frank to get Tottenham’s Premier League campaign back on track. The Lilywhites are determined to build on last season’s Europa League success, and to do so, Frank’s side must rediscover their attacking flair and play with greater freedom. Only then will the supporters fully rally behind the team once more.

Whether the Danish tactician can lead Spurs to further silverware remains to be seen, but the coming months will be crucial in defining his tenure at N17.
