Fabio Paratici confirms plans to back Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank
Tottenham Hotspur have undergone some major structural changes at the top following Daniel Levy’s departure from N17 at the start of September. Vinai Venkatesham is tasked with leading day-to-day operations after the Lewis Family appointed him as the CEO earlier this year. And in October, Venkatesham confirmed the return of Fabio Paratici to the club.
Fabio Paratici has been appointed as Spurs’ co-sporting director alongside Johan Lange, who was previously the technical director. He took on a role as managing director at Tottenham back in the summer of 2021, having previously worked at a big capacity with Juventus. The Italian had initially resigned in 2023 after receiving a 30-month worldwide ban from football stemming from financial irregularities during his time at Juventus.
The ban was lifted in October 2025, although while serving his suspension, he worked in an unofficial consultancy capacity with Tottenham. This means the 53-year-old was a part of the methodical process that saw Thomas Frank appointed as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement as the club’s head coach.

Fabio Paratici totally committed to Thomas Frank’s project
Tottenham ended their long-awaited trophy drought last season by winning the Europa League against all odds. Paratici and his team now have the task of building on the Europa League success by backing Thomas Frank in every department. They have to help the Dane take the club to the next step by becoming competitive in the Premier League.
Frank has vowed to compete on all fronts before the start of the campaign, and while Spurs have suffered an early elimination from the Carabao Cup, there are still two cup competitions to play. He will be keen to win a cup competition whilst securing a top-six finish in the Premier League.
Paratici has to support and stand by the Spurs gaffer, and he is fully willing to do that. In an interview with Italy’s Sky Sports Insider show (h/t Gianluca di Marzio), the experienced Italian official asserted his style of football is now Frank’s.
“I believe blindly in the director-coach relationship: as a director, you almost have to renounce your footballing ideas to embrace those of the coach you have,” Paratici said about Frank.
“My football today is that of Thomas Frank. I’ve always discussed football a lot with my coaches, and I’ve learned a lot from them: they’re extremely knowledgeable. When you go into a discussion with them, you have to be an expert, or they’ll destroy you.
“Managers must support them and tolerate them in what they think is the right thing for them. We’re there to help them, not to question them.
“The role of manager is fundamental, because they have to ensure that everything works well. They have to put everyone in the best possible condition to perform at a high level.”

Paratici must back Frank in the January transfer window
Frank has also received strong backing from the Tottenham hierarchy. The Lewis family pumped £100 million capital into the club in October, with the funds allocated specifically for player transfers and wages.
Paratici and his team have seemingly started working behind the scenes over bringing in players in the winter transfer window. They must address the key areas of Frank’s squad, as Spurs look to close the gap on their rivals. A left-winger and striker should be prioritised given the problems the Lilywhites have faced this season thus far.
