“Means a lot”- Tottenham summer signing enjoying ‘playing with freedom’ at N17 following brilliant start to the season

Mohammed Kudus is quickly making a name for himself at Tottenham under Thomas Frank

Tottenham forward Mohammed Kudus has enjoyed an excellent start for the Lilywhites following his high profile move from West Ham in the summer. Many supporters were surprised when the club chose to spend £55m on the Ghanaian, especially after he endured a disappointing individual campaign with the Hammers last season. However, his undeniable potential was enough to convince the North Londoners to invest heavily in him.

It now appears that Spurs made the right decision by bringing in Kudus. The 25-year-old has already shown why he is regarded as one of the most exciting players in the Premier League. The prolific winger has quickly become one of the first names on the team sheet for the Lilywhites, making major contributions in the final third for Thomas Frank’s side.

Mohammed Kudus is enjoying life at Tottenham this season.

He is currently leading the assist charts in the Premier League with four already to his name. This shows that the Ghanaian is playing with complete freedom at N17 and has been given the platform to perfect his craft under Thomas Frank. He was unable to do that at West Ham due to their lack of ball retention, which led many to question his true ability.

Tottenham are seeing the best of Mohammed Kudus this season

Mohammed Kudus made his home debut for Tottenham against Burnley on the opening day of the Premier League season. It is fair to say that the Ghanaian winger instantly became a fan favourite at N17, recording two assists and delivering an impressive performance on the right flank. He was electric against the Clarets, constantly entertaining the supporters and keeping the opposition guessing.

To his credit, he has continued to build on that display as the season has progressed. Spurs fans are now witnessing the best version of the 25-year-old as he enters the prime stage of his career under Thomas Frank. When asked about the creative freedom he has been given at N17, Kudus told Premier League Productions,

“It means a lot to be in an environment where you’re appreciated and understood by the players and the staff to get into positions where you’re going to use your personal attributes to have an impact for the team. I get that a lot here.”

The prolific winger added,

“Main example was taking players on. And I get the opportunity to do that here and I’m encouraged to keep doing more even if I lose the ball or I don’t succeed. So I’m really happy about that encouragement and I hold that in high regard because I’m not restricted.”

Kudus is grateful to his teammates and Tottenham’s staff for giving him the freedom to operate in areas where he can thrive. The Ghana international says he is encouraged to express himself and use his strengths by taking on defenders and creating chances for his teammates. The 25-year-old also notes that he does not take his role for granted and works hard to repay the trust Thomas Frank has placed in him.

Supporters have thoroughly enjoyed watching Kudus make the right wing position his own this season. The 25-year-old possesses everything required from a top wide player. It is also a testament to the ambition of the Spurs hierarchy, who showed genuine intent by securing the Ghanaian in the summer despite strong competition from Chelsea throughout the transfer window.
