Barcelona could compete with Tottenham for the signing of Bayern Munich star Harry Kane
Harry Kane has been linked with a sensational return to Tottenham Hotspur for some time now.
The England international left Tottenham for Bayern Munich in 2023 as the club’s all-time top scorer. He has been a prolific goalscorer for Bayern Munich, scoring 108 goals in 113 appearances. Harry Kane has maintained remarkable individual standards since leaving Spurs and has also broken his trophy duck in Germany, tasting Bundesliga title and Super Cup successes.
It has been revealed that exit clauses in the English star’s contract at the Allianz Arena can be triggered in 2026. As of now, Kane has offered no indication that he is looking for a new challenge. If the striker indeed wants to leave Bayern, then he can just activate €65 million release clause.
Spurs have been keen to bring back Kane, but they are seemingly set to face competition from a European bigwig.

Barcelona keen on signing Kane
According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Kane. They want a renowned No.9 to replace veteran goalscorer Robert Lewandowski next season and have set their sights on the Bayern star as a potential option.
Barcelona could make a statement with the signing of Kane, who has taken his game to the next level under the guidance of Vincent Kompany. The 32-year-old is at the peak of his powers and could enhance Hansi Flick’s side. Similarly, Spurs are planning to re-sign the England international, with Kane supposedly eager to return to England to chase Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League scoring record of 260 goals.
The report adds Bayern spent a lot of money to sign the former Londoner, but recognizes that with his age the time may come to recoup part of that investment. If Kane can maintain his performance levels, either Tottenham or Barcelona would get an elite player with goals, experience and leadership skills.

A move to Barcelona would present England’s greatest goalscorer with opportunities to compete for the grandest of domestic and continental honours. Spurs, on the other hand, may not be able to guarantee that, but the emotional connect could tempt Kane to return to N17. Plus, he isn’t too far away from overtaking Shearer’s all-time scoring record.
Still, nothing is decided, and Kane staying at Bayern can’t be ruled out either.
