However, as he joined from the Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, I imagine he is probably on £60-70,000 per week maximum. So Spurs should reward his rapid progress into one of the best defenders in the Premier League with a new deal and could even double his current salary.”
Wenham believes Spurs have no immediate reason to panic despite the growing transfer links, but insists the club should reward the 24-year-old’s rise with a new contract and a salary that properly reflects his performances.
