Thomas Frank wants to take each game as it comes for Tottenham this season
A lot has been said about Tottenham’s start to the Premier League campaign as they aim to build on last season’s Europa League triumph. There are still several concerns that continue to dominate headlines, making Thomas Frank’s job more challenging. However, it is equally important to acknowledge the positives under the Danish tactician, with the Lilywhites climbing to fifth in the table.
Spurs are currently enjoying an impressive unbeaten run away from home in the Premier League. They have won four of their five matches on the road, collecting a league-high 13 points from their travels. As encouraging as this record is, their ongoing struggles at home paint a contrasting picture. Tottenham are now winless in their last five league matches at N17, with their only home victory coming on opening day against Burnley.

The injury crisis at N17 has not helped Frank’s cause either. While the squad is full of potential, many key players are sidelined, forcing the manager to rely on a weakened group. Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Dominic Solanke, and Randal Kolo Muani are among the players currently missing from first-team action.
Thomas Frank can help Tottenham qualify for Europe this season
Although Tottenham’s recent Premier League form has sparked plenty of negative discussion, it is crucial to highlight the progress they have already made under Frank. The club’s rise to fifth place is impressive, especially considering they finished 17th last season. Expectations were modest heading into this campaign, but the team has exceeded them and shown real promise throughout large stretches of the season.
Football writer Ali Speechly has now shared her thoughts on Spurs’ campaign and the impact Frank has made at N17. In her BBC column, she wrote,
“My expectations for the season were… hoping for the top 10 but now I’m optimistic about a top-six finish. There is so much potential in this team and, with time – and players returning from injury – I believe Frank can get the best out of them.”
Like many supporters, Speechly initially hoped for a top-half finish. But Tottenham’s strong start has convinced her that a top-six place, and even European qualification, is a realistic target. She believes this will become achievable once key players return, as Frank has shown he possesses the qualities needed to maximise their potential.
How the season unfolds remains to be seen as Spurs approach the festive period. Frank must continue to take each game as it comes and build on the positive foundations already in place. The manager will hope the injury problems at N17 ease soon, allowing Tottenham to mount a serious push to close the gap on their rivals.
Will Frank follow in the footsteps of Ange Postecoglou and lead Spurs to yet another piece of silverware? Only time will tell. But he is certainly going down the right path as of now.
