Tottenham managed to bring in several high-profile names in the summer as they looked to strengthen the squad following their Europa League triumph. The Lilywhites reinforced their wide areas by signing Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, and Randal Kolo Muani before deadline day. But one major issue the North Londoners failed to address has already come back to haunt Thomas Frank. Spurs clearly needed a new striker at N17, given the inconsistencies shown by Dominic Solanke and Richarlison. Yet, for one reason or another, they did not secure a prolific goal-scorer, leaving the Danish tactician dependent on two forwards with unreliable injury records.
Richarlison, to his credit, has stayed fit all season. However, his dip in form remains a big concern at N17, with the Brazilian scoring just two goals in his last 16 appearances. Solanke, meanwhile, has barely featured for Tottenham after suffering a setback in his ankle injury recovery.

Recent reports have linked Spurs with Barcelona stalwart Robert Lewandowski. Tottenham are keeping close tabs on the Poland international’s situation at Camp Nou as he enters the final seven months of his contract. There has been no progress on an extension, leaving his future uncertain amid mounting transfer speculation. Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested in landing him this winter.
However, Spurs now face even more competition for Lewandowski’s signature. According to Ekrem Konur (via X), AC Milan, Al Nassr, Inter Miami, and Fenerbahçe are all monitoring the 37-year-old’s situation. All four clubs are prepared to offer the veteran striker a prominent role, guaranteeing regular minutes and a chance to compete at a high level.
Despite the interest, the journalist claims Lewandowski is maintaining his stance: he is not considering a move in the upcoming window. He is determined to remain at Camp Nou and help Barcelona defend their La Liga title under Hansi Flick.
Given his position, Tottenham may now need to shift their attention to alternative options. The Lilywhites have also been linked with Al Ahli striker Ivan Toney as a potential January signing. The England international is eager to feature in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad next summer, and he is reportedly willing to take a pay cut to return to the Premier League, with Spurs currently the favourites for his signature.
