Tottenham Hotspur expect at least two offers for striker Richarlison in 2026

Tottenham Hotspur appear to be edging towards a decisive moment in the Richarlison saga, with the club increasingly open to moving the Brazilian on and using the funds to reshape their attack. With Spurs actively scouring the market for a new centre-forward in January, Richarlison is no longer seen as central to the project and is instead being lined up as the player who can help bankroll the next phase of Thomas Frank’s rebuild.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are hopeful of interest from both Saudi Arabia and Brazil, with MLS also loosely mentioned as a possible destination. From a Spurs point of view, the Saudi Pro League and Brazil feel like the most realistic routes to recoup a significant fee and clear his sizeable wages from the books. At 28, Richarlison is entering what should be his peak years, and this may be the last window in which Spurs can command serious money for him.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison could be on his way out in 2026.

The timing of the decision is key. Richarlison is under contract until 2027, meaning that by next season he will effectively be heading into the final two years of his deal, the point at which a club either renews or sells. Letting that run down further would diminish his value and weaken Tottenham’s hand. For a club trying to operate smarter in the market and stay on the right side of financial rules, that simply doesn’t make sense.

On the pitch, it is hard to argue that Richarlison has ever fully justified his price tag in North London. There have been patches of form, important goals and plenty of work rate, but never the sustained, ruthless output you need from a first-choice Spurs forward. Injuries, inconsistency and constant tactical tweaks have all played a part, but the overall feeling is that both player and club have reached a natural crossroads.

Dominic Solanke has struggled with injuries this season.

From a Spurs perspective, this doesn’t have to be bitter. Richarlison has always given everything, and his attitude has never really been in question. But if Tottenham want to kick on, they need a striker who can lead the line week in, week out and lift the level of the whole attack. If serious offers arrive from Saudi Arabia or a big club back in Brazil, it may suit all sides.

This is the right time for the North Londoners to be ruthless as sentiment can’t outweigh ambition. If moving Richarlison on helps Spurs land a genuinely elite centre-forward, then it’s a step the club simply has to take, with thanks for his effort, and with eyes firmly on the future.
