Thomas Frank sends message to Tottenham fans about booing during home games
Tottenham Hotspur were beaten at home in the Premier League once again. Fulham were the latest party-poopers, rocking to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night and returning home with all three points.
Surprisingly, this was the Cottagers’ first win on their travels this season, and much to the frustration of Spurs fans, it came in north London. Thomas Frank and Co. found themselves reeling only six minutes into the game when Fulham netted twice via Kenny Tete and Harry Wilson. The second goal happened due to Guglielmo Vicario’s blunder, and as he tried to recompose himself after the mistake, he was met with loud boos and ironical jeers.
Thomas Frank, under a lot of pressure following poor results, was extremely unhappy with the Vicario booing incident. He insisted that booing and jeering the Italian goalkeeper was unacceptable and claimed that supporters who target individuals are not real Spurs fans. The Dane’s decision to criticise certain sections of the Lilywhites’ fanbase for their actions against Vicario has apparently not gone down well.

Thomas Frank sends message to fans about booing during home games
Tottenham do not have much time to dwell on the Fulham defeat as they prepare for the Newcastle United on Tuesday night. There is now a desperation to bounce back and end the four-game winless run.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Monday, Thomas Frank admitted he understands the frustrations of his side’s supporters due to their poor home form so far this season. The Spurs gaffer was vocal about the fans’ actions on Saturday, but has asserted that his squad need the entire fanbase on side.
“I completely understand the frustration. If we don’t win there will always be a frustration. We have not won much at home this season and also last so the frustration can grow. It’s my job to do what we can to have calm,” Frank was quoted by Football London.
“We are nothing without the fans. Tottenham Hotspur is nothing without the fans. My point was that during matches we need each other. Afterwards the booing can be fair. During, we need to make it a fortress and to do that we need to be together.”
Emergency meeting held inside the dressing room
Ahead of the Newcastle game, reports suggested that Tottenham players had held an emergency meeting to discuss the growing disconnect with fans. There is perhaps fear that, until and unless the relationship is not mended with the fans and the toxic atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is not addressed, the disconnect could widen and even reach a point of no return.
Away from home, though, the Lilywhites have had joy under Frank, before the team came up against Arsenal and PSG. Up next is Newcastle United, a team formidable at home and will have their tails up after smashing Everton 4-1 in Merseyside last weekend. A win would do wonders for Tottenham, but another defeat would add to the brewing crisis for Frank.
