Thomas Frank might be staring at the prospect of being sacked by Tottenham this season.
Tottenham boss Thomas Frank is under immense scrutiny for his side’s poor Premier League form this season. Under the Danish tactician’s leadership, the Lilywhites have slipped into the bottom half of the table and could fall to 14th if they lose against Newcastle United on Tuesday night. It is no surprise that Frank is facing significant pressure from both the media and the fans as the club continues to struggle.
The recent defeat to Fulham has put Frank’s job at risk, with Tottenham losing at home to the Cottagers for the first time since 2013. The team’s overall performance was disappointing, and Frank’s men failed to break down their city rivals. The loud boos ringing around N17 were a clear indication that fans are beginning to turn against the players.

It now appears that the honeymoon period for Thomas Frank at N17 is over. Reality has set in as the club once again struggles to find form in the Premier League. Just like last season, there is a strong possibility that the North Londoners could finish in the bottom half if Frank is unable to turn their fortunes around.
And things could have gotten worse against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park had it not been for the returning skipper Cristian Romero’s heroics. The North London team twice came from behind, courtesy of Romero’s brace to snatch a draw.
Thomas Frank is keen to continue at Tottenham this season
External pressure may eventually force the Spurs hierarchy to take the bold decision to sack Frank if results continue to damage the club’s progress. The Lewis family is seeking immediate success following last season’s Europa League triumph, making it crucial for Frank to get the best out of his squad as the festive period approaches.
Thomas Frank remains confident that he has the backing of the Tottenham hierarchy to lead the club to future success. Speaking in his pre-match press conference (via Football.London), Frank said:
“I’m very confident. I think the ownership – of course I’m just starting to know them – but it seems like they’re good guys, intelligent people. They know how to run businesses and learning about football, learning more now they’ve become owners.”
The Spurs boss added:
“I think when we’re dealing with intelligent people they can see every successful dynasty, every successful club has taken time. Yeah you have one where you maybe win one year or the second year, but you can’t sustain it if you don’t build something sustainable. It’s impossible.”
Frank insists that the Spurs hierarchy knows what it takes to make the club successful again, and he believes his team still have time to rediscover their form in the Premier League. The former Brentford manager stresses the importance of building something sustainable and emphasises that with enough time, he can make Tottenham great again.
However, the decision to sack Ange Postecoglou appears to have backfired, as Spurs’ Premier League struggles continue to worsen. The Australian manager gave his players freedom to express themselves, which makes his dismissal even more questionable. His side played entertaining football, something Thomas Frank has yet to replicate at N17.
