There have been a lot of discussions going on among the Lilywhites supporters about the strikers at Hotspur Way, but the striker department could look very different by the end of January.
Richarlison replacement on Tottenham radar impressed Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Given that Richarlison’s future at Tottenham is looking highly blurry despite his recent starting role, the North Londoners are already said to be weighing up options to bring in at N17. We have already seen Thomas Frank’s side being linked with a move for the likes of Thiago and Ivan Toney. But Spurs have now been linked with a move for Parma’s striker Mateo Pellegrino. According to the recent reports, he looks like a serious candidate to step into the Brazilian’s shoes in Frank’s roster.
The 24-year-old Argentine sensation has been impressing in Serie A of late. And his outing against AC Milan recently, where he hit the post and was repeatedly unsettling their backline, left Rossoneri chief Geoffrey Moncada and Zlatan Ibrahimovic impressed; so much so that the duo are internally discussing securing his signatures.
Tottenham want to sign Mateo Pellegrino

Reports by Calciomercato suggest that Tottenham are genuine contenders for his signature. The North Londoners are eyeing someone who is not only physical with his back to the goal but also has that technical security to play in a transitional system that Thomas Frank likes to deploy at N17. And that is where the Parma striker fits the bill.
If we look at the Lilywhites’ proceedings under Frank this season, the North Londoners have rotated between Randal Kolo Muani and Richarlison in that #9 role, given that Dominic Solanke is serving the treatment table.
And when Richarlison delivers, he looks the part, but when the former Everton ace fades, the North Londoners’ attack often goes with him. And that kind of inconsistency is why there has been this talk of a possible January exit.
Author Opinion
In Pellegrino, Tottenham would not ideally be making a project signing, as it would look, given that he has been trusted in the biggest of games at Parma. And his potential means that he would carry a huge upside.
And if Zlatan sees something in him, you already have a reason to believe in the player as well. But it is to be seen whether the North Londoners do end up putting in a bid for him in the winter window for all their interest. And then we also have to first see if Richy does end up leaving despite all the rumours, given how many times we have seen him stay put at N17 irrespective of exit headlines.
