Thomas Frank provides Tottenham injury update on Kulusevski and Solanke ahead of Brentford clash

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank says both Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski are still unavailable ahead of game against Brentford.

Thomas Frank will be hoping to get Tottenham Hotspur back to winning ways when he meets his former club Brentford on Saturday for the first time since leaving the club in the summer.

Spurs are now five games without a win across all competitions and have dropped down to 11th in the Premier League. Cristian Romero turned hero as Tottenham salvaged a 2-2 draw away at Newcastle United on Tuesday night. The draw did end their three-game losing run, but Thomas Frank would know his team were outplayed by Newcastle for large periods and were fortunate to return home with a point.

Nonetheless, it is up to the Lilywhites to build on that point and beat Brentford, who head to N17 after tasting defeat across the capital at Arsenal in midweek. Rob Jones has been chosen as the man to officiate the Tottenham vs. Brentford game.

Thomas Frank provides injury updates on Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke

Thomas Frank provided an injury update on Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke ahead of the Brentford game. Dejan Kulusevski has been out since undergoing knee surgery back in May. The Swedish international said in mid-September that he’d most likely return to action before the end of 2025. Our fans were encouraged in November after watching him train with a Spurs coach in Dubai.

As for Dominic Solanke, the striker been battling an ankle injury since the start of the summer and underwent a minor surgery in October. This has limited the Englishman to just two appearances this season- both coming as a substitute.

When asked to give a fresh update on Kulusevski and Solanke’s fitness, Frank said in his pre-match presser on Thursday afternoon (h/t Tottenham official site live blog):

“No. When they are ready to be close to joining the squad then I will provide an update.”

With both Solanke and Kulusevski still out of action, Frank must not be best pleased with the Tottenham medical department and will certainly be questioning their methods. Both were key players behind the Lilywhites’ Europa League success last season, so their absences has naturally hurt the team under Frank.

Elsewhere, it emerged earlier this week that both Radu Dragusin and Kota Takai took positive steps in their bid for full recovery as the pair featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly for Spurs Under-21s against Dagenham and Redbridge at Hotspur Way.

While they are unlikely to be involved in the squad against Brentford, Dragusin and Takai getting valuable minutes with the U-21s is a big boost for Frank. This means they could be back in the squad at some point before 2025 ends.
