Currently impressing on loan in La Liga, the England international could soon be back in the English Premier League.
Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford has been impressing in Spain with Barcelona, so much so that he has earned his way back into the England squad.
And given his performances, his future is shaping up to be a headline transfer story for when the 2026 transfer window comes around. While the Catalan giants do hold an option of around £26-30 million for his signature, there is still no guarantee that he will sign for Barca on a permanent transfer.

Given the financial question marks of the whole transaction and whether they can afford it because Barca’s financial troubles mean every commitment is weighed carefully at Camp Nou. And this sense of uncertainty has opened up space for the likes of PSG and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Lilywhites are waiting in the wings to see if a shock transfer to England opens up, per today’s report by Caught Offside.
Marcus Rashford could be a Son Heung-Min replacement at Hotspur Way

Rashford joined Barcelona on loan in the summer of 2025. He fell out of favour at Old Trafford after his quite public criticism by Ruben Amorim. But he has shown his high potential in La Liga and the Champions League this season. And for Tottenham, given that they have been dealing with a lack of options on the left flank since Son Heung-Min departed for LAFC in the pre-season. That is where this idea of adding a proven England international seems quite obvious on paper.
The 28-year-old has quite a lot of experience under his belt. And he is still in his peak years, and he already knows the nitty-gritty of the physical side of things in English football.

From a pure profile perspective, he would be an incredible addition at Tottenham given his capabilities. But then there is also a question of whether he can replicate his performances at Barcelona in the physical side of the English top tier.
We have seen him for years at Old Trafford and how he wasn’t able to take games by the scruff in the English top tier. And then another hurdle will be his massive payday. Given how he is on marquee wages at United, it is not feasible to secure his signatures if it ends up playing with the Lilywhites’ books that Daniel Levy has worked hard to balance out.
