Several Tottenham stars set to represent the Lilywhites for their countries at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Tottenham could see multiple players represent their nations at next summer’s World Cup following Friday’s draw in Washington. With the tournament expanding to 48 teams across the United States, Canada and Mexico, several Spurs stars have secured qualification and will now know their group stage opponents.
England: Djed Spence Leads Three Lions Representation
England have been drawn into Group L alongside Croatia, Ghana and Panama. Thomas Tuchel’s side will face Croatia on June 17, Ghana six days later, before completing their group stage against Panama on June 27.
Djed Spence represents Tottenham’s England representative. The right back has established himself as a regular under Tuchel following impressive performances throughout the qualifying campaign. His versatility across both full back positions provides valuable depth for the Three Lions.
Dominic Solanke faces an uphill battle to make the squad as Harry Kane’s backup striker. The forward has been sidelined with an injury since the start of this season and must rediscover his scoring touch before Tuchel finalizes his 26 player squad in May.
Argentina and Uruguay: South American Stars
Cristian Romero will captain Tottenham’s South American representation in Group B. Argentina face Peru, Chile and an Asian playoff winner. The centre back remains a guaranteed starter for the reigning world champions under Lionel Scaloni.

Rodrigo Bentancur represents Uruguay in Group D, where they face Colombia, Ecuador and a European playoff qualifier. The midfielder remains a key figure for Marcelo Bielsa despite his inconsistent club form. Uruguay qualified comfortably through CONMEBOL, finishing second behind Argentina.
Spain and Netherlands Complete Spurs Contingent
Pedro Porro has cemented his place in Spain’s squad after impressive performances under Luis de la Fuente. The right back will compete in Group E alongside Netherlands, Belgium and a playoff winner from either Wales or Romania.
Micky van de Ven returns to Netherlands duty for the World Cup. The centre back features in Group E where the Dutch face Spain, Belgium and the playoff winner. Ronald Koeman has restored him to the squad following his strong performances for Tottenham this season.
Xavi Simons will also represent Netherlands in the same group. The attacking midfielder has been instrumental for the Dutch during their qualifying campaign, establishing himself as a key creative outlet for Koeman’s side.
Ben Davies and Brennan Johnson Face Playoff Challenge
Ben Davies and Brennan Johnson face a playoff battle before they can confirm their World Cup participation. Wales finished second in their qualifying group and must navigate two playoff matches in March to reach the tournament.
Craig Bellamy’s side host Bosnia and Herzegovina in Cardiff on March 26 in the playoff semifinal. Victory would set up a final against either Italy or Northern Ireland, who meet on the same night. If Wales successfully navigate the playoffs, they will enter Group B alongside Canada, Qatar and Switzerland.
The tournament kicks off on June 11 and runs through the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19. With 104 matches scheduled across 16 host cities, Tottenham players who make their national squads can expect demanding schedules that could impact their preparations for the 2026-27 Premier League season under Thomas Frank.
