Yves Bissouma deletes all connections to Tottenham on social media in a hunt towards departing the club in January.
The past summer transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur tried their best to offload Yves Bissouma but were unsuccessful.
The Malian international was heavily linked with an exit from White Hart Lane in the summer. It looked like the combative midfielder would move to Turkey in the summer, but a move failed to materialise. Having stayed at the club, Yves Bissouma was dropped from Tottenham’s UEFA Super Cup squad against Paris Saint-Germain in August for persistent lateness, before he sustained an injury in training.
After recovering from his injury, the 29-year-old was called up to the Mali squad for the October international break fixtures. Sadly, he sustained a serious ankle injury just moments after coming on the pitch as a substitute against Madagascar. He underwent surgery in October and has been ruled out for the foreseeable future.

Yves Bissouma has deleted all connections to Tottenham on social media
Bissouma is yet to feature for Tottenham this season. Due to a combination of indiscipline, injury issues and internal competition, he has fallen down the pecking order under Thomas Frank. After starring in the Europa League final against Manchester United in May, the midfielder was expected to finally kick on and carve a meaningful career of him in N17. Sadly, it hasn’t happened.
Now, as revealed by Spurs podcaster Chris Cowlin on X, Bissouma has deleted all associations with Tottenham on his official Instagram page. And fans have reacted to the African enforcer’s antics on social media.
“Oh well. See ya,” one fan wrote on X.
Another one wrote: “He was trouble with a capital T before he signed & we still signed him, bad recruitment from the club.”
A third posted: “He’s likely been told he won’t get another chance.”
A fourth tweeted: “That’s a bit odd but I get why. Clearly he’s been told there’s no way back.”
A fifth one slammed: “I bet he hasn’t deleted his pay packet though as he.”
And a sixth wrote: “Prepping for January sales.”
Another bad signing for Spurs?
Bissouma arrived at Tottenham from Brighton with a lot of fanfare in 2022. Having established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders with Brighton in the Premier League, the expectations were naturally high in N17.
However, he has proven to be a bad signing. The Malian’s chronic inconsistency, coupled with off-field problems and injury issues, have not allowed him to unlock his true potential at Tottenham. And going by his latest antics on social media, it is a hint of Bissouma being pushed away from the club ahead of the winter window, where he likely seeks to depart.
